Hi up for auction is a 1979 Ford Bronco the truck only has a little over 44,000 miles on it. The bronco does have some rust issues that need attended to but is not bad for a 34 year old truck! This would be a perfect Bronco to have restored and put away. The engine is unmolested and everything is there except for the kick down rod so the transmission does not kick down, if you read on the internet you  find many people removed them there are a pita to adjust and most people just removed them. The Bronco is the all-wheel drive model. I think the tires that are on the truck may very well be the originals according to the date code and they are not dry rotted and seem to be in decent shape but I wouldn't drive on them real far , the hub caps in the photos are not the originals but the originals will be included and are in good shape. The last owner said that the top has never been off so I never took it off either, the truck has a sunroof that he thought was installed at the factory but I am not sure about that, sunroof and top doesn't leak a drop, and I don't think the engine does either, like most of them did. Does not have air conditioning. The truck has been rust proofed but it still rusted around wheel wells and bottoms of panels and places. frame is good no bad rust issues there. upholstery is very nice but carpet is fading and the front seats seams are just starting to come apart but could be fixed easily.. The rear seat is almost perfect!  The back window goes up and down just as it should. Doors are nice and tight as possibly could be, the rubber around doors are in good condition. The dew wipe on rear window has seen better days. The tail pipe is rusted off but will be a very easy fix and the rest of the exhaust looks pretty good, all factory guards are still in place. There is a dent on the rear passenger side and it could be fixed easy and is rot real noticeable anyway " see photo". I have changed the stereo but I have the original one and it will be included with the truck. The truck is 98% original and needs to be babied and restored and it would be a jewel, I wanted to restore it but just find I don't have the time or room to do so. The truck is dependable enough to be a daily driver. Has a trailer hitch and electric brake setup.

Ford S-Max Concept proves minivans aren't always minivans [w/video]

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

Ford's latest don't-call-it-a-minivan is called the S-Max Concept, and it's a looker. As you can see, the conceptual overgrown hatch makes good use of Ford's latest design language, especially at the very front of the S-Max, which bears a striking resemblance to production models that include the Focus, C-Max and Fusion.
Powering the S-Max Concept is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, and while Ford doesn't actually list power figures for the concept, previous estimates put the mill at 133 kW of power (about 178 horsepower) and 240 Nm of torque (about 177 pound-feet). Inside, there's room for seven passengers and at least some of their luggage.
As you'd expect, the S-Max is loaded up with all of Ford's latest infotainment technology, including Sync and MyFordTouch. More interestingly, there are also onboard heart and blood glucose monitors that we doubt will be seeing the light of production anytime soon. On that topic, don't expect to see any S-Max-shaped vehicles hitting the US market from Ford, either. Scroll down below for the press release, but not before checking out the high-res image gallery above.

Ford pulls official support from top-level NHRA teams

Sun, 11 Aug 2013

As the smallest team in the sport, it wasn't really a surprise when Dodge decided to pull out of NASCAR, but Autoweek is reporting that Ford is looking to pull the plug on its professional-level NHRA sponsorships following the 2014 season. With attendance and television ratings down, the article reports that Ford is just backing out of the top series but will remain active in the Sportsman classes of racing, which are geared more toward the grassroots and semi-professional racers.
This means that one of drag racing's biggest names, John Force, will be left looking for new sponsorship after next season. Force, 64, has been with Ford for 17 years, winning 15 championships in that time and winning almost half of all Funny Car events in his Mustang since he started working with Ford in 1997, but after 2014, there could be some big shakeups at John Force Racing.
According to the report, Force would consider is moving over to the Top Fuel dragster series, although he could also move to another manufacturer to remain in the Funny Car series. With Ford on the way out, this leaves just Toyota and Dodge as the remaining active automakers in the highest levels of drag racing.

2015 F-150 launch to curb Ford profits?

Thu, 30 Jan 2014

Ford is making a big bet on aluminum with its new 2015 F-150, and it's possible that the decision will hurt the company financially, at least in the short term. After earning a record $8.6 billion in 2013, the Blue Oval does not expect to set another record in 2014. According to Automotive News, that's "largely attributable to F Series," says Bob Shanks, Ford's Chief Financial Officer.
To retool for the new F-150, Ford will idle its Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan for 11 weeks and the Ford Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri for 2 weeks. "3 of the 13 overall weeks occur during what normally is our summer shutdown timeframe," said Mike Levine, Ford Trucks Communication Manager, in an email to Autoblog. The extra 10 weeks will be preparing for the more aluminum-intensive construction for the trucks and will mean over 2 months of no F-150s being made. For comparison's sake, Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne just confirmed that the 200 plant in Sterling Heights, MI will be down for 30 days to retool for the new model, but obviously there are many more F-150 production variables than for the midsize sedan.
Levine notes that Ford is already running three shifts at both plants, and says the automaker has plans to ensure that there is adequate supply of the full-size pickups during the retooling process. The company does not want to suffer a shortage of the vehicle that accounted for 31-percent of its 2013 US sales and an even bigger percentage of its profits.
