Grandville, Michigan, United States

This '68 Bronco is in really good running condition.  It has a 5.0L HO EFI engine from an '88 Mustang (about 75k miles on engine).

You will love this truck! I've owned it since 2005 but it's time to sell as we are preparing for our 2 teenagers' as new drivers in the coming year and won't have the room for an extra vehicle.

Every time I drive this truck I get compliments (it's not in show condition, but it is a "looker" for sure).  It drives nice on or off road.  You can even take it on the highway!  The MT ATZ tires are not noisy like mudders, they are a great all terrain tire, and somewhat quiet on the road and handle great.

Here are the list of goodies on this truck:
  • 5.0 High Output Engine with under-driven pulleys for xtra HP
  • Electronic Fuel Injection
  • C4 Transmission with cooler and NP 205 Transfer Case
  • Dana 44 Front and Dana 60 Ford 9" in rear with 3.54 Posi
  • Warn hub locks for 4x4 action
  • 2" body lift, 5.5" overall
  • WildHorses Family Roll Cage with WH Family Cage bikini top
  • Pre-Runner bumpers front and back.  (w/ spare tire attachment not shown in pictures)
  • Bestop 1/2 doors
  • Painless Wire Harness, on-board computer, fuse-panel
  • Rollover safety switch
  • Custom Dual Exhaust for an awesome sound
  • B&M Megashifter kit
  • 90 Amp Alternator
  • KC Spot Lights
  • Power Steering
  • Hydroboost Power Brakes
  • Original 1970 Mach I Hood Scoop on hood
  • Water Proof Drive Shaft
  • "Classic" Mickey Thompson Wheels
  • Mickey Thompson 33x12.5 ATZ Tires with plenty of tread
  • Dual Bilstein Shocks in front with Deaver Coils.  Note that the rear suspension has single shock w/ leaf springs (that was going to be my next project hint, hint).
  • Grant custom Bronco steering wheel
  • Pioneer Stereo with iPod connector &4 Polk Marine Grade Speakers
There is no hard top or doors, I just didn't use them.  I've always kept it in garage during summer and stored in the winter.  And it always starts up first turn of the key in the spring, gotta love fuel injection!

How Ford plans to handle insurance and repair questions surrounding new aluminum-bodied F-150

Tue, 21 Jan 2014

Building a car out of aluminum has a number of benefits - the lighter weight allows the vehicle to be more agile, more fuel efficient, make better use of its power and be more resistant to dings and dents. The downside to the advanced construction, though, is that repairs are both challenging and expensive. That's troubling for the new, aluminum-bodied Ford F-150, because it's kind of made a name for itself as a rugged, durable work vehicle.
How will the legions of Ford buyers cope when it comes time to insure and repair their new trucks? Well, according to Ford, it's expecting a ten-percent jump in insurance costs for the aluminum-bodied F-150, although Ford's truck marketing manager, Doug Scott, was quick to point out that the F-150 is generally cheaper to insure than its competition from Ram and General Motors. "At the end of the day, that's sort of a wash," Scott told Automotive News at last week's Detroit Auto Show. "We've spent a lot of time and feel very comfortable that that's not going to be an inhibitor."
The other issue facing Ford is the distinct lack of body shops that have the training or equipment to repair aluminum-bodied vehicles. AN cites an estimate from the Automotive Service Association claiming that of the 30,000 independent body shops in the US, less than 10 percent are able to work on aluminum.

2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid

No Prius Killer
As much as we enthusiasts like to rail on the lowly Toyota Prius as the harbinger of death for all we hold dear, there's no denying the machine's absolute and interminable grip on the hybrid hatchback market in the United States. Toyota has so thoroughly sunk its teeth into the segment that you can clearly hear the automaker's incisors clacking against one another with the conclusion of each financial quarter. And there's little wonder why. Buyers can plop down less than $25,000 and have a runabout that can return up to an estimated 51 miles per gallon in the city, leaving every other entry on the market with precious little gristle to gnaw on.
Enter the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid. With its claimed 47 mpg combined, the funky little hatch from Europe already falls behind the 48 mpg city offered by the Prius, but that marginal sacrifice in fuel economy could be a small price to pay for buyers who want a credible alternative to the stalwart Toyota. Unfortunately, like the Fusion Hybrid, the C-Max Hybrid had trouble even approaching its Environmental Protection Agency estimates during our time with the car.

Shelby American cleans house of 14 concept cars

Wed, 25 Jun 2014

Typically when an automaker rolls out a concept car or pre-production prototype, it does its tour and then disappears into the company's archives. Maybe it will be displayed for the public to see in the company's own museum or maybe it will spend most of its time under covers in a warehouse somewhere, but every once in a while, an automaker will open up its history and start selling off its concept cars. For Shelby American, "once in a while" has just rolled around.
The House that Carroll Built is moving from its previous headquarters at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to a new facility off of the Las Vegas strip, and in the process is liquidating fourteen of the rarest cars in its collection. That presents a tremendous opportunity for muscle car collectors to bring one or more of these snakes home.
As you might expect, the catalog is composed mostly of Mustangs, but not exclusively. There's a pair of 289 Cobras: the last of the 50th anniversary slab-sided continuation cars and an original development vehicle, offered at $200,000 apiece. At the other end of the spectrum you'll find the 2013 Shelby Raptor concept for $125k and Focus concept for $50k. And of course there are the Mustangs.
