This van is in excellent condition and well maintained. It has a manual transmission. It seats 7 gets 24 MPG, Its great for camping and hauling lots of stuff. The back seats are removable and fold flat to make a bed or haul sheets of plywood. It only has 72k original miles on it (mostly wyoming highway miles), Most of these vans have over 200k and still running strong.... It has never been smoked in. Has all the options and ac is ice cold. The only things wrong with it is a cracked windshield and the wipers don't park sometimes. The rear bumper has age cracks in it, the paint is perfect and still very shiny, no rust anywhere. It has never been in an accident and never hit a deer. The 4 liter v6 has great torque for towing, It has a class 3 hitch. It is rear wheel drive but is excellent in the snow. (it has a ton of weight over the drive wheels) I towed my sled trailer many trips and never got it stuck. The Aerostars  only came with manual transmissions from the factory in the 3 liter/ base model. The automatic tranny died at only 40k and so I decided to convert itThe clutch, input shaft,  bearings and synchros were all new at that time, so it was a full rebuild. This is a true one-of-a-kind.

I am only selling it because I have too many vehicles and need to start restoring my turbo 5spd caravan. I will consider possible trade for a really nice gen 1 caravan or voyager.  I can drive up to 500 miles to help with delivery. $500 deposit required within 3 days. Will hold for 1 month for full payment. Call TXT or EMAIL 307-679-7785. Thanks

How Ford hid the 2015 Mustang from spy photographers

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

Now that we've finally seen the 2015 Ford Mustang, it's fun to go back and look at the spy shots we spent months pouring over, trying to dissect what was under all the camouflage. For the most part, Ford did a good job of concealing the car from spy photographers, and it released a video showing how much work went into doing so.
As crude as the Mustang's camo looked, all of the hard plastic, foam, vinyl and ratchet straps were actually created and put in place by a specific design team. The whole idea was to hide the car's identity, but it certainly ended up acting as a magnet for attention, too. According to Ford's press release, it took less than an hour for spy shots to appear online after the car was taken on public roads for the very first time - this is likely in reference to our first official spy shots of the Mustang from June, shown in the gallery below.
Scroll down for a press release and video, which shows footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang testing with minimal camouflage. This is probably the same track session where we got our first look at the Mustang's face back in August.

Ford using robot drivers to test durability [w/video]

Sun, 16 Jun 2013

In testing the durability of its upcoming fullsize Transit vans, Ford has begun using autonomous robotic technology to pilot vehicles through the punishing courses of its Michigan Proving Grounds test facility. The autonomous tech allows Ford to run more durability tests in a single day than it could with human drivers, as well as create even more challenging tests that wouldn't be safe to run with a human behind the wheel.
The technology being used was developed by Utah-based Autonomous Solutions, and isn't quite like the totally autonomous vehicles being developed by companies like Google and Audi for use out in the real world. Rather, Ford's autonomous test vehicles follow a pre-programmed course and their position is tracked via GPS and cameras that are being monitored from a central control room. Though the route is predetermined, the robotic control module operates the steering, acceleration and braking to keep the vehicle on course as it drives over broken concrete, cobblestones, metal grates, rough gravel, mud pits and oversize speed bumps.
Scroll down to watch the robotic drivers in action, though be warned that you're headed for disappointment if you expect to see a Centurion behind the wheel (nerd alert!). The setup looks more like a Mythbusters experiment than a scene from Battlestar Galactica.

Ford issues four recalls covering 163k vehicles

Tue, 19 Aug 2014

Recalls! 2014 will be forever remembered as the year that automakers went recall crazy, with millions and millions of vehicles adding up to crush previous recall records well before the end of the year. Adding to that tally is Ford, which announced a call-back for 163,000 vehicles.
Leading that charge are the 2.0-liter, EcoBoost four-cylinder engines of the Ford Focus ST and Ford Escape. 160,000 of the 2013 and 2014 models have bad wiring harnesses that can disrupt the signals traveling to the powertrain control module. That, in turn, could lead to a check engine light, reduced power and stalling. Notably, Ford hasn't recalled any other vehicles that feature the 2.0 EcoBoost, such as the Fusion, Taurus or Explorer.
While the Focus ST and Escape constitute the vast majority of recalled vehicles, they aren't the only problem children in the Ford family. 1,300 Transit passenger vans from model year 2015 were recalled due to brake fluid leaks, while another 600 Transit cargo variants were recalled after Ford discovered the windowless sliding doors could come open in the event of a side-impact crash. Dealers will replace the sealing washers on the passenger variants and add a reinforcement plate on the cargo models, The Detroit News reports.
