1986 MUSTANG GT CONVERTIBLE 5.0 RED CLEAN INSIDE & OUT NEW TOP/PAINT/CLUTCH ETC.

My father purchased it from a family friend, he has had this car since 1990, it has hardly been driven since then.  He moved to FL with Mom and they left the car here, so I started  fixing it up over the years, and now I am newly married. . .And I have different new projects evolving with her.  So the car has to go.    :(

Exterior:  No Body Damage, no rust, New Orig.Factory Jalpeno Red Paint (Before the car was painted there was only surfaced rust on the doors that was repaired professionally(Have pics before it was painted if your interested.)  The rest of the body was solid,  The Door jams, Rockers, inside the hood are all still orginal paint.  The Paint looks great has a very nice clear coat!  The White power Top is Brand New  and works great!  Eagle Alloy 16 inch wheels are in great shape,  The tires are like new 225 50 R16, General's top of the line tires $500.00 brand new.  Brakes are good.  Headlights work, brake lights, and turning singals all work.  The fog light bulbs need to be replaced.  The fog lights themselves work.   One crack on the windshield, it might be able to fixed, see pic for details.  And the driver side door only locks from inside.

Interior:  The interior is clean minor wear from over the years, Dash, door panels, visors, trim, console looks great, The Seats are in very good shape, there is some wear from the sun on the edges of the seats(Not bad at all) And in the  back seat I saw one very small minor burn hole.  The fuel pump is manually controlled by a toggle switch(Gives security)  New Cd player with $150.00 Pioneer Speakers in the back.  The fronts I could not wire in, because they were stock, need to get new ones for the front.  I will also include original speakers with Original Radio. Power windows work great and are very clean.

Engine/Trans:  5.0 Engine ALL Original, runs strong, Sythetic oil change, Brand New Ram Clutch($530.00),  New Fuel Pump, New Fuels Injectors(Cost $1500.00). Just changed both Valve cover gaskets.    Everything is Stock and Original, My Dad said the A/C used to work, just needs to be charged.  Little tiny oil leak from oil pan gasket, did not get a chance to replace.

Under carriage:  Some minor surface rust, not a big deal from over the years.  FYI: I also have some spare parts that come with the car, the old luggage rack, light bulbs, the door panel pockets.

Over all the car is very good shape, It is a head turner.  I like to be very honest in my listing, that way you know exactly what your buying.    If you have any questions feel free to call 630-550-9858.  Items are Sold as Described and as is. Please make all inquires before Bidding. -Thanks

Cadillac ELR, Nissan Resonance and Ford Atlas win Eyes on Design awards

Fri, 18 Jan 2013

This year's annual Eyes on Design awards were presented at the end of press days for the Detroit Auto Show on Tuesday. Given out for the best production and concept car designs that debuted at the show, and voted on by an esteemed panel of actual car designers, this year's award for best production vehicle design went to the 2014 Cadillac ELR. The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, which was the show favorite among Autoblog editors, apparently did not impress the Eyes on Design judges enough with its all-new vent-festooned design.
The award for best concept design was actually split as a tie among the Nissan Resonance and Ford Atlas concepts. Last year's winners were the 2013 Ford Fusion and the Lexus LF-LC concept.
The Eyes on Design organization also presented a new honor this year called the Catalyst Award to Bob Lutz, former Vice Chairman of General Motors. Lutz is reported to have given a defense of design in his acceptance speech, arguing that advancements in quality across the industry as a whole have made good design a key differentiator for buyers.

2015 Ford Mustang to make world debut on Dec. 5 [w/video]

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

Between a bevvy of spy shots, speculative renders and insidery images from the halls of Car and Driver, we've got a pretty decent idea of what the 2015 Ford Mustang might look like. Still, we're excited to see the real deal as soon as possible.
Turns out that Ford has told us just when that first official look might come, too, although it has chosen somewhat of a backdoor fashion for dropping the news.
The video below popped up on the Ford Mustang YouTube channel this morning, promoting a social media effort called #MustangInspires on. The video and hashtag ask fans of the pony car to share pictures of the car - or "photographic stories of inspiration" - on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. But the truly interesting part of the video description is that which mentions taking "the cover off the all-new Mustang" on December 5. Consider our calendars marked.

Report: GM struggling to market turbo technology

Tue, 20 Apr 2010

In the automotive realm, marketing can sometimes prove just as important as the actual product. Take, for instance, Ford's well regarded EcoBoost technology, which couples turbocharging with direct injection to produce more horsepower and reduce fuel consumption. Would it surprise you to hear that General Motors has had similar technology on the market for over three years?
It's true. GM's first turbocharged, direct injected powerplants hit the market for the 2007 model. The 2.0-liter Ecotec mills put down an impressive 260 horsepower and a matching 260 pound-feet of torque, and they were lauded by the press in the engine bays of the Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, Chevrolet Cobalt SS and Chevrolet HHR SS. But few people outside a core group of enthusiasts actually remember this fact.
Says Uwe Grebe, executive director of GM's global advanced engineering, "We didn't have a badge and say, 'This is the most important thing we will put on all our brochures.'" Ford, however, did just that, and it's EcoBoost engines are right at the tips of all our tongues when we discuss today's most advanced powerplants. So, how does The General fix its mistake?
