I am selling my Abarth because I hate to see it sitting around. This vehicle was primarily owned by my older brother, he is an avid car enthusiast. I am a certified automotive technician and thus I preformed all the labor and modifications per all manufacturers' specifications. The wheels and tires were mounted elsewhere, as my shop does not have tire mounting and balancing equipment.
This Fiat Abarth is highly modified with astonishing power, handling and reliability alike. The equal length half-shafts provide equal power transfer to the road; this eliminates the common torque steer problem found in most high performance FWD vehicles. This car is very fast, it is road worthy, but it wouldn't take much work by the new owner to bring it up to competition track standards. The original manufacturer's warranty still stands.

2014 Fiat 500L now comes with a complimentary Italian family
Tue, 06 Aug 2013Fiat's marketing machine has invaded Funny or Die, and the resulting web commercial is both entertaining and weird. Watch one couple buy the "most stylish" and "roomiest" car they've ever had, thinking they'd be able to transport golf bags and art supplies (and 32 basketballs?) only to have the roomy-for-a-Cinquecento back seat filled with a complimentary Italian family. In real life, we can't see this being a good thing; not only do they take up space, but their added weight most certainly would hurt gas mileage and performance.
But in commercial land, it comes off as funny, and Fiat does prove that the 2014 500L is roomy enough for five people (including the driver), if not golf bags, art supplies and 32 basketballs. Scroll down to watch amusing Internet short below.
Jeep Cherokee faces on-sale delay
Sat, 23 Mar 2013A report in The Wall Street Journal looks at some of the obstacles to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee that go beyond its mootable yet "very contemporary" looks, almost all of them based on Fiat's financial position. Starting with that sheetmetal, in defense of it SRT president Ralph Gilles and Jeep design head Mark Allen said they wanted to "make sure the design still looks modern five years from now."
The WSJ piece doesn't cite longevity as a factor, instead saying that its features originated in a design for an Alfa Romeo, the transformation into a Jeep design meant allowing Chrysler get it to market more quickly and save "hundreds of millions of dollars" in engineering.
The need for Fiat to save money while it weathers the European situation has cut budgets for development, engineering and the pace of retooling the Toledo, Ohio plant to build the Cherokee. In a familiar case of snowballing at work, among the effects will be pushing back the Cherokee's volume sales date and delaying updates to some of Chrysler's other products.
Fiat already planning 500X Abarth performance crossover
Wed, 15 Oct 2014Fiat may treat Abarth as a trim level on the 500 in the United States, but overseas it's a bona fide performance brand. The thing is that, since the demise of the Punto Abarth (and with performance versions of the Panda and 500L ruled out), the Scorpion marque has been reduced to tuning only versions of the standard Cinquecento. But that could be about to change.
The latest reports indicate that Fiat is leaning heavily towards an Abarth version of the new 500X crossover: "The 500X is a good body for Abarth," Fiat designer Roberto Giolti said to CarAdvice.com.au. "It's absolutely perfect in terms of drivability, control. The driving seat is perfectly measured to control the car. So the Abarth would be perfect." That may fall short of an out-and-out confirmation, but strikes us as a warm endorsement from a company insider if we've ever seen one.
Revealed less than two weeks ago at the Paris Motor Show, the new 500X will be available with engines ranging from 110 horsepower all the way up to 184 with the 2.4-liter Tigershark four. Given that the 500 Abarth hatchback already offers 160 hp and that the 500X is considerably larger, it would require a bit more punch, along with a tighter suspension, beefed-up brakes and more aggressive styling inside and out.
