I regret that I have to sell my beautiful Italian redhead, but unfortunately with a growing family I can no long afford to keep her so now I offer it up for sale to someone who will give her a good home. I am selling a1983 Ferrari Mondial Quattrovalvole. This is an original European Model so no catalytic converters, it only presently has 28,000 miles the odometer cluster reads in kilometers and shows 45,063 kilometers, this number will change as I am presently still driving the car on weekends, however I don't foresee it going up by much . This car has gone through customs and is sold with a clean and clear Indiana title. This car also has an up graded exhaust with custom headers and tips which make is sound like a true F1 car going down the street. With the purchase I will include the original exhaust incase you want to convert it back to stock.  I also did up grade it t oa c/d player with auxiliary cable but I will also include the original radio. I recently (5k miles ago) had an engine off service at the tune of $6000 + done to the car. This service included, new clutch,  new timing kit, new seals, new head gaskets, new valve cover gaskets. I also installed a bran new set of tires on it this August, New brakes where done in June of this year as well.  The exterior of this car is in awesome condition all around,  probably a 9 out of 10, The Rosso Corsa color is bright red and has a deep shine to it, with next to no blemishes on the paint! it does have one minor door ding on the driver door and one minor ding on the driver headlight panel. Honesty unless  you know where to look you wont see them ! All the seals and window moldings are in great shape, all the outside plastic  including pumpers are in great shape and still have a rich black color with no fading. The power windows work, however it is a 31 year old Italian car so they do roll up slowly and occasionally on cooler days need an additional nudge to get them going. I did convert the a/c system a couple of years ago and this car blows out ice cold air! This car is definitely an attention getter, lots of rubber necking and thumbs up everywhere I drive it, with the exhaust and the classic 80's look of the car it really does get a lot of attention. The interior is in great shape with no sun fading, the leather is tan and in awesome shape for a 31 year old car, the leather has hardened a bit with the years but still looks awesome, the seats are comfortable and have no support issues, the dash is in great shape with no cracking or fading, The rear seats have never been used and look new! Driving Impressions

Engine
  The engine of a 1981 - 1983 Ferrari Mondial 8 is the exact same engine as used in the 308GTBi and 308GTSi.  In fact it received the fuel injected engine before the 308 series did.  Like many companies, the luxury versions of cars, which the Mondial is, receives new technologies and fancier trimmings earlier.  The transmission is also identical but with a slightly higher ratio rear axle ratio to compensate for the Mondial's higher weight.  This increase in ratio lowered maximum top speed at redline somewhat.  However, 135mph with rock solid stability and predictability is still quite nice.
  It is a 3.0 liter V8 with twin overhead cams per bank - 4 in all.  Rubber synchronized timing belts are used for each bank.  The Mondial 8 has 2 valves per cylinder and produces about 215HP and the Quattrovalve has 4 valves per cylinder and produces about 240HP.  The redline is very high for an 8 cylinder at 7,700 RPM.  Its peak torgue is around 6,000 RPM.  Compared to a large displacement low-end torque Corvette, it is very different to drive.  It is best comparable to high reving Alfa Romeros but with more power and smoother delivery.
  Fuel Injection is Bosch K-tronic, same as used in BMW V8.  That means parts availability and reliability.  The change from 4 carburators to fuel injection was not for performance reasons but for stiffer emission standards.  However, it also lowered maintenance costs significantly (balancing 4 dual barrel webber carbs is extremely expensive.  Also, the high reving V8 has dual electronic ignition systmes to deal with the need for producing over 30,000 piston firings/minute.  Every other firing is from a differnt ignition system - basically a staggered firing system.

Exhaust
  European versions do not have catalitic convereters and produce about 10 more HP than American models.  Either version has a beautiful tuned exhaust system and high rise, laminar intake manifold.
  The high revving whine with that many cylinders is a very distinctive sound.  Before I told my friends I bought the Ferrari Mondial, I showed up unexpectedly and my buddy said "I had the windows open and all of a sudden I hear a Ferrari - I run to the window and look, and there you are".  Distinctive sound - you bet ya!

Brakes
  The brakes are absolutely incredible.  They are vacuum boosted with separate balanced front and rear wheel systems.  Since they are designed to safely and predictably slow a 3,500 lb car from 135mph many times over, one can imagine how impressive they are when doing but 75 and stomp on them.  The big wide tires help out much here too!  Later versions of the car had anti lock brakes installed but I have a hard time understanding why with as impressive as these are.  As a comparison to other company's brakes, my other two everyday cars are a Mercedes S class and a Corvette.  I'm used to good brakes.  These are incredible.  As you can guess, it is ventilated disks all around.

Handling
  Driving the Mondial is like driving a go cart.  The steering is super tight.  Any flinch of the wheel and the car will steer that direction.  No question who is in control - you are.  Any mistake made is definitely you, unfortunately.  It is comfortable to drive but you always know that you are in control so it take a little more attention than a super soft riding Lincoln.
  Going across RR tracks at angles sends a fair amount of feedback throught the steering wheel.  For any driving, there is a lot of feedback and sound returned to the driver.  With the "cab forward" style of the Mondial, the front wheel wells are very close to the driver and the change in sound of the tires on the pavement is very apparent and with time, one can hear how much effort the tires are placing and how much grip they have to the road.  A very different experience than a Mercedes where auditory cues are masked.
  The audio feedback of driving from the front tires and the engine behind you is quite axilarating.  There is no question the racing heritage and purpose of this car.  To hear the 7,000+ RPM of 8 cylinders screaming behind you is an experience that just can't be matched.

Race Recap: Brazil ends the 2013 F1 season with whimpers, bangs [spoilers]

When the grid lined up at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace in Brazil there were just 71 laps, almost 306 kilometers, until the end of the 2013 season. Sometimes the circuit in Interlagos is deciding a Championship winner or showcasing new talent, and sometimes it's merely deciding a winner. This year was the latter.
2013 World Champion Sebastian Vettel in the first Infiniti Red Bull Racing lined up in front of Nico Rosberg in the first Mercedes-AMG Petronas, Fernando Alonso in the first Ferrari, Mark Webber in the second Red Bull and his final Formula One race, Lewis Hamilton in the second Mercedes, Romain Grosjean in the Lotus, Daniel Ricciardo in the first Toro Rosso and his final race for the team before moving to Red Bull, his teammate Jean-Éric Vergne, Felipe Massa in the second Ferrari and Nico Hülkenberg in the Sauber.
There were numerous theories about what surprises might occur, with race day being the first dry running of the weekend and rain predicted to fall at some point during the running. The first surprise came when the lights went out and Vettel, the consummate starter, got beat to the first corner.

First Ferrari LaFerrari hits the auction block

If you haven't laid down your $1.4 million to be one of 499 people to own the new Ferrari LaFerrari by now, then you're already too late. Fortunately, Ferrari's new hybrid supercar has just been listed by German auction site SEMCO Gmbh, meaning that you still have a shot at owning one, but it'll cost you - dearly.
With just 124 miles on the odometer, this particular LaFerrari is being listed at 2.38 million euros - more than $3.2 million USD. But hey, at least that includes the Value Added Tax, eh? If the seller manages to command that asking price, it would be an incredible return on investment every bit as fast as the car itself, which in case your mind needs refreshing, is very fast indeed. Top Speed? Try 217 miles per hour and a 0-60 time of under three seconds.

LaFerrari XX to pack 1,050 hp

With 949 horsepower on tap, it would be hard to imagine Ferrari getting much more juice out of the 6.3-liter V12 hybrid powering its LaFerrari. But apparently, it's possible, as reports suggest that the forthcoming LaFerrari XX will pack somewhere closer to 1,050 hp.
This according to Top Gear, which reports that the successor to the Enzo-based FXX and the subsequent 599XX will be revealed next month in Abu Dhabi at the company's year-end Finale Mondiali extravaganza - the same event where, in years past, Ferrari has presented such extreme machines as the 458 Challenge Evoluzione, the aforementioned 599XX and the FXX Evoluzione.
When the subject of a LaFerrari XX first came up several months ago, Antonello Coletta - head of the department responsible for the XX program - said he couldn't picture the track version of the company's flagship hybrid hypercar being much faster or more powerful than the existing version. But where there's a will, there's a way. TG reports that the extra hundred horses have been corralled in the V12 and not in the electric motor, which will reportedly carry over essentially unchanged from the road-going model.
