The Ferrari California is a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports car, powered by a 4.3L V8 that makes 483
horsepower and 372 pound-feet of torque. The engine has a modern, direct-injection design--good for a
goosebump-inducing 8,000 rpm wail--and it's mated to a 7-speed Getrag twin-clutch gearbox with steering-wheel
paddle shifters. The California is built on an aluminum space-frame chassis, which helps keep weight down; the
gearbox is also mounted at the rear, which helps provide an excellent weight distribution that biases 53 percent to
the rear. Ferrari claims acceleration to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 193 mph. The California has
a race-tuned double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear setup, with speed-sensitive hydraulic power
steering, as well as vented ceramic disc brakes on all four wheels. A mechanical limited-slip differential helps
deliver power among more predictably out of corners. Officially the California is a 2+2, meaning that it features
two small rear seats, but they're seats in name only and that space is probably best used as additional storage
space. The California avoids many of the noise and weather disadvantages inherent to a soft-top roadster, due to
its tight-fitting retractable hardtop setup. The system includes pop-up roll bar system, and there's a wind-blocker
that mounts in place for higher-speed cruising. Standard equipment on the California includes auto-leveling
projector-beam headlamps, rear fog lamps, dual-zone automatic climate control, a navigation system, keyless entry,
power windows, a full floor console with storage, a leather headliner and leather and aluminum trim. Other options
include an adaptive front lighting, a backup camera system, iPod integration, full power seats, cruise control and
special heat-reflective leather upholstery.
Vehicles options include Red brake calipers, Cruise control, electrically operated seats, Horse stitched on
headrest, Scuderia shields, White Diamond stitching on seats, White Diamond stitching on rear seats, In/out
electric mirror and Homelink, a backup Parking camera, Front and rear parking sensors, 19” diamond rims, White
tachometer and Special stitching.
This vehicles amazing extras include custom installed Escort 9500ci ($2000), Focal KX2 Component Speakers, Infinity
Subwoofer and JBL 5 Channel Amplifier, custom matching leather subwoofer cover ($7500), 3M Black Gloss Vinyl Roof
($1000.00 installed by best car wrapping company in Vegas / FYI $7000.00 paint option from Ferrari), set of Factory
Ferrari Wheels Powder coated Gloss Black ($12,000), original set of 19” Diamond Rims available to buyer.

Ferrari to pay Fiat Chrysler $2.8B prior to spinoff

Sat, 15 Nov 2014

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is trying to get capital together in a hurry to finance the automaker's growth plans. Among its strategies to raise money, Ferrari will be spun off from the FCA mothership next year with an initial public offering. However, the Italian supercar maker will be a couple billion dollars poorer at the start of its new life.
According to a filing with US regulators obtained by Automotive News, FCA intends to "enter into certain other transactions including distributions and transfers of cash from Ferrari currently estimated at 2.25 billion euros ($2.8 billion)" before it spins the supercar maker off. Those funds might include paying a dividend to investors, and FCA possibly transferring some of its debt to the Prancing Horse.
The Ferrari IPO will likely be in the second or third quarter of 2015, according to Automotive News. Ten percent of the automaker will go onto the public market in the US and possibly Europe too, and 80 percent will be distributed among current FCA shareholders. The other 10 percent is held by co-chairman Piero Ferrari, according to AN.

Ferrari looks to cut 20% total C02 emissions over 7 years

Tue, 24 Jun 2014

In the late 1970s, performance cars suffered a huge blow when the necessity for better economy and lower emissions crippled their power. It took nearly a decade for the horsepower to return. Today, we're in the middle of another push for greater vehicle efficiency, but don't expect another era of malaise this time. Instead, lightweight materials, turbos and hybrids mean that everyone can be happy. However, the pressure to clean up isn't just for the mass market, supercars must improve too, but Ferrari at least seems to be taking on the challenge in stride.
Ferrari Powertrain Director Vittorio Dini recently told Automotive News Europe that the Prancing Horse will improve its current average C02 emissions of 270 grams per kilometer by 20 percent by 2021, to reach about 216 grams of C02 per kilometer. To achieve these lofty ambitions, the company will exploit a relatively simple path. "In the future, all of our V8s will use turbos," said Dini said to ANE. Also, its V12s will use hybridization because it'll be a better choice for them compared to the heat of multiple turbos, he claimed.
The first steps of this strategy are already in front of us. The new California T ditches its naturally aspirated V8 in favor of a smaller displacement, more powerful turbocharged unit, and the LaFerrari is already using the hybrid V12. Dini's quote certainly lends some credence to the rumor that the 2015 refresh for the 458 Italia may use an even more powerful version of the California's turbo V8. With a new Ferrari model planned for each year between now and 2018, the Prancing Horse seems unperturbed by any threats posed by emissions.

Haas F1 secures engine deal with Ferrari

Fri, 05 Sep 2014

Plans are coming together for Gene Haas to launch his US-based Formula One team in 2016. The tooling magnate and NASCAR team owner has renamed his grand prix racing outfit from Haas Formula to Haas F1, he's setting up shop in North Carolina with a satellite location to be announced somewhere in Europe, and now he's penned an engine supply deal with Ferrari.
The deal doesn't come as such a surprise after Haas signed on as a sponsor with the Maranello squad a couple of months ago, but confirms the reinforcement of the partnership between the two teams. "The multi-year agreement," according to Ferrari in the statement below, "is for the supply of the entire power unit starting from 2016," including the engine, hybrid assist and presumably the gearbox as well. But that's not the extent of the deal.
Billed as a "technical collaboration agreement," the deal opens the door for Haas and Ferrari to cooperate even more closely than the latter does with existing powertrain customers Sauber and Marussia. "We believe this new partnership has the potential to evolve beyond the technical role of supplying our power unit and all related technical services," said Scuderia Ferrari team principal Marco Mattiacci.
