This Ferrari 360 Spider is an excellent driver. This is not a showroom queen and will not win any price on the Ferrari snuffy car show. It is a solid driver that is in good shape with some minor flaws and has some extreme options on it.
This Ferrari is a Euro import model. It has a Florida title and has had all kinds of services done. The mayor engine service with timing belt was done in-house by our own race mechanics less than 1000 Miles away. We have since done several other services such as hydraulic on the top, AC service and several other repairs and preventive maintenance. A full list will be supplied to the new owner.

This car has a few special items that are not common on the average 360. For one, you can see from the picture the dash light for the shocks is lit up. That is because we installed Challenge race shocks, from the 360 Challenge car, into this baby. The ride is stiffer and lower now but the handling is so much better. It feels like a go-kart. Challenge shocks do not come with the shock sensors and as such the car thinks there are no shocks attached to the car. I am sure that someone with reasonable electronic knowledge can built a resistor that will override the computer. We just never bothered with it.
The air intakes are carbon fibre. They look nice and have performance advantages.

Here is what we have done recently to the car:
- the top has been replaced and is essentially new.
- the seats have been re-upholstered with Daytona pattern.
- sport exhaust....yes, that ultimate V8 sound pure!

Here is what the car has that is not 100%:
- the front headlight covers have the typical fogginess to it.
- there are a few rock chips here and there and the typical little scrape on the top cover when the top mechanism does not open fully and leaves a little scruff. You will find it on most cars.
- typical scrapping under the front bumper. On the black painted part.

LaFerrari design secrets explored at Ferrari museum

Thu, 01 Aug 2013

For every finished vehicle design we see, there are probably hundreds of drawings and models that have long since been discarded. Housed in its own room inside the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, the LaFerrari has a unique exhibit that shows off some of the car's design evolution, and Autocar caught up with Ferrari design director Flavio Manzoni for an even deeper look at what went into creating this hybrid supercar.
In addition to the final product, the LaFerrari exhibit also reveals some of the designs that didn't make the cut - two of which made it to the full-size scale model phase, though. The display shows off five different designs (three from Ferrari and two from Pininfarina) that were in the running to become the final LaFerrari.
The interview with Manzoni even adds in some juicy bits of info, including news that one of the potential LaFerrari designs has been locked away and could resurface as a special, one-off model. Manzoni gets in a couple of good quotes while voicing his opposition of the current retro design language currently being used by some automakers, as well. Check it all out in the video below.

Ferrari 250 GTO heading to The Quail with no reserve

Fri, 04 Jul 2014

It's not every day that a Ferrari 250 GTO changes hands. It is, after all, one of the most highly coveted cars ever made, and there were only 39 of them built in the first place. So when one goes up for sale, it tends to fetch millions. Tens of millions, actually, and the prices keep escalating.
Throughout most of the 1980s they were trading hands for six figures. In 1989 one sold for $10 million. A few months later, $13 million. Prices fluctuated in the 90s, but by 2012, one sold for a whopping $35 million, eclipsed the following year at $52 million. Nobody knows what the next one will sell for, but we're about to find out.
That's because Bonhams has got one consigned for its upcoming auction at the Quail Lodge during Monterey weekend next month. And it's offering it without reserve, meaning that it could sell for the opening bid (however unlikely), it could break the previous record or it could land anywhere in between or beyond.

Ferrari Lusso ownership will add some time to your morning commute

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

If you've ever driven a vintage vehicle on a regular basis, you know the process from getting from point A to point B is a bit more convoluted than simply hopping in and going. There are rituals to observe, checklists to run through and processes to address before ever touching the ignition. Neglect any one of a number of small tasks and you're likely to find yourself on the side of the road. James Chen, the owner of Axis Wheels, knows all about that. You see, he owns a gorgeous Ferrari Lusso, and coaxing the V12 under the hood to life requires a certain amount of procedure.
Once it's rolling, of course, all that premeditation seems entirely worth the effort. Chen does his best to keep the machine out of traffic, but refuses to keep the coupe sealed away in a museum, so he gets up early and takes to the canyon roads around LA before anyone else is awake. Atta boy.
