Photos of the leak down results can be emailed by request. Brakes and rotors changed recently. Tires have plenty of tread remaining. Body is in excellent condition. All paint is original to the car and shows very well. The interior has the usual minor wear on the seats but they are still in great shape. The center console trim will need some parts replaced including the ash tray and the window switch bezel. We will be taking care of these items for the high bidder. Dash leather is in great shape with no stretching. Passenger air bag is nice and tight and not pulling away from the dash. Gauge pod has a minor spot were the leather is loose. This should be an easy fix. A/C blows ice cold and all vent settings are working properly. We do not have the previous service history but we can see that the motor has been out of the car recently. With that in mind we would recommend the buyer to have a major service performed in the near future. We can do a major belt service including all fluids for $5500. This is well below the normal price for this job and we would warranty the work. There are no warning lights on the dash. Sport suspension works great with no issues. Car runs and drives excellent! First Ferrari LaFerrari hits the auction block
Thu, 02 Jan 2014If you haven't laid down your $1.4 million to be one of 499 people to own the new Ferrari LaFerrari by now, then you're already too late. Fortunately, Ferrari's new hybrid supercar has just been listed by German auction site SEMCO Gmbh, meaning that you still have a shot at owning one, but it'll cost you - dearly.
With just 124 miles on the odometer, this particular LaFerrari is being listed at 2.38 million euros - more than $3.2 million USD. But hey, at least that includes the Value Added Tax, eh? If the seller manages to command that asking price, it would be an incredible return on investment every bit as fast as the car itself, which in case your mind needs refreshing, is very fast indeed. Top Speed? Try 217 miles per hour and a 0-60 time of under three seconds.
World Car of the Year finalists announced
Fri, 07 Mar 2014To say the 2014 Geneva Motor Show was packed full of news is an understatement as big as the show's home at the Palexpo convention center. Despite everything that we were able to cover during this year's show, there's still more coming out of Switzerland, including the announcement of the finalists for the 2014 World Car of the Year Awards.
We reported on the original list of finalists over three weeks ago, and now, that initial list has been pared down to three finalists for each of the five awards. The finalists were announced at a press conference by frequent Autoblog contributor and co-chair of the awards, Matt Davis (above).
The finalists for the overall title of 2014 World Car of the Year are the Audi A3, the BMW 4 Series and the Mazda3. The World Luxury Car of the Year will be either the Bentley Flying Spur, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class or the Land Rover Range Rover Sport, while the Performance Car of the Year will be awarded to the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, the Ferrari 458 Speciale or the Porsche 911 GT3 (which, um, yeah...).
1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 is a love letter to Steve McQueen
Mon, 27 Oct 2014There have been plenty of movie stars who've been into cars, but few genuine aficionados like Steve McQueen. The legendary King of Cool was known for driving his green Mustang and Porsche prototypes on the big screen, but in his private life, he loved his Ferrari.
There was, of course, his iconic 250 GT Lusso, but back in 1967, the actor and sometimes racer also bought a rare 275 NART Spyder. Sadly, that car was totaled a mere two days after he took possession, and there were no replacements available. So he bought this hardtop 275 GTB/4 instead.
Ferrari's Classiche department recently restored the car to pristine condition and RM Auctions sold it for over $10 million, but there's more to its story than its celebrity provenance and high hammer price. Listen to the guys who worked on it for McQueen tell the car's story in this latest video from the Aficionauto.
