I am selling a replica Ferrari Daytona Spyder. It is titled as a 1985
Cali, built on a 1979 Corvette donor. I bought this car to restore, but found another project I want to put my
time and efforts into more, so the Daytona has to go to next owner. This car runs and drives good. The previous
owner had used it very sparingly the last 5 years, just running it around the block to keep the fluids stirred. It
will need all the things associated with long storage(belts, all fluids changed, hoses, filters, etc). Still
drives surprising well though, I thought it would have all kinds of squeaks and rattles being a replica, but it
doesn't. Drives like a 70s Vette. The serial numbers on the engine pad are V05047ZAJ 195436030. The chassis and
frame are nice for the age, a little surface rust here and there, no rot, the section between the front a-frames
has evidence of it hitting a rock or two, but it's still fine. The body is in excellent shape, no cracks or
damage, no evidence of any wrecks or previous bodywork. The paint looks nice from 10 or 20 feet, still shiny. Get
up close and you can see plenty of touched up scratches and chips, so it could use paint if you feel like it. The
wheels are in good shape with no curb rash. The tires about 3 years old, have less than 100 miles on them. Battery
about 1 year old. The interior is fair, the seats do not have any rips or tears, the rest of the interior shows
wear and tear. It has a wood MOMO steerng wheel. Also tilt/telescopic steering column. The odometer shows 12,548
and stills turns, I assume it has rolled over and it's really 112K miles but who knows, shows exempt on title. The
A/C still works fine, blows cold. All the gauges work except the clock. Needs some little things like the horn
doesn't work, I see a little oil drip on my floor(not a huge amount), and one of the truck hinges needs repair(I
think the bolts are stripped out and the hinge is bent some), little things like this that you can fix as you're
driving and enjoying the car. The power windows go up and down fine, but sometimes you need to wiggle the switches
a little to get them to go, so it could use new switches. Oh and the top could use replacing, its brittle and
tearing around the bottom snaps. The headlight cover door system is there, but the vacuum hoses run to nowhere, I
don't think it was ever hooked up, so the covers lay flat to expose the headlights. I took a picture of them closed
so you can see what it looks like, I did it manually.

Ferrari to offer 458 examples of new Speciale Spider

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

Talk about first-world, one-percenter problems: you want to get a new Ferrari, you've even settled on the 458, but you can't decide between the Spider and the Speciale. It's a tough call, we know. But your pain will be over soon, if the latest rumors are to be believed.
Those rumors have it that, at an exclusive preview event for select customers at Pebble Beach this past weekend, Ferrari showed off a new 458 variant that combines the best attributes of the 458 Spider (namely its folding hardtop) with those of the 458 Speciale (those being its 600-horsepower engine and other go-fast bits).
Succeeding the similarly exclusive, best-of-both-worlds, F430-based 16M Scuderia Spider, the new 458 Speciale Spider (or whatever it's ultimately called) is said to be limited to 458 examples worldwide, and is expected to be unveiled to the public at the Paris Motor Show this coming October.

Ferrari to reveal exclusive F12 NART next month in LA

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

While denying his tenure was coming to an end just prior to his resignation last week, outgoing Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo hinted at two new models to be revealed next month. One we anticipate to be a new version of the 458 - either the new turbocharged M model or the limited-edition Scuderia Spider - to be revealed at the Paris Motor Show on October 2, and the other we knew would be a strictly limited special exclusive to North America. And now we appear to have an idea of what that model will be.
According to Automotive News, we'll likely be looking at a version of the F12 Berlinetta decked out with the blue and white stripes pioneered by the North American Racing Team (NART) and most recently applied to the 458 Speciale. The special model is also likely to get custom bodywork and a revised interior - similar to what Ferrari Special Projects does for individual customers, but produced in a limited run of 10 examples.
All 10 of those are likely to already have been spoken for, with a price tag tipped to exceed $3 million apiece. The model will be revealed on October 12 at a special event in Los Angeles marking 60 years of Ferrari in America which will likely be Montezemolo's last event as chairman before handing over control to Sergio Marchionne and collecting his eight-figure severance package.

Watch the Ferrari LaFerrari get put through its paces by Top Gear and Evo

Wed, 30 Apr 2014

Do you know what today is? Well, besides being the anniversary of the signing of the Louisiana Purchase (thanks France!), Consumer Protection Day in Thailand and Michael Waltrip's birthday, April 30 marks the expiration of the first of two embargoes on the Ferrari LaFerrari.
That means you're probably going to see quite a bit on Ferrari's hypercar in the coming days. One of the first things we've stumbled across is this video from our friends at Top Gear. Now, this isn't Jeremy, James and Richard playing with the ultra-powerful hybrid (although it's probably only a matter of time before the LaFerrari arrives at Dunsfold), it's the TG magazine crew. It's best to think of the Top Gear video as an appetizer, though.
The main course comes from Evo, which has a far lengthier and more detailed spot, running a full 10 minutes of fun. Dickie Meaden samples the 900-plus-horsepower monster on both the Italian roads and the Fiorano test track. We won't spoil the outcome, so be sure to take a look below for both videos.
