2005 Dodge Viper Srt10, No Accidents, Low Miles, Great Paint, Reasonable Reserve on 2040-cars

Year:2005 Mileage:17145
Location:

Leawood, Kansas, United States

Leawood, Kansas, United States

On offer here is a 2005 Dodge Viper which is just out of a large private collection. This Viper displays only 17,145 original miles on the odometer and that low mileage is exemplified throughout the rest of the car. This car has always been regularly serviced and runs like a top. Without a doubt, there are few cars which are so revered as the Dodge Viper and this is your chance to own one.

This car was ordered new in Solar Yellow over black and it still displays that combination today. The paint work on the car is impeccable and the interior has no noticeable flaws.  To prepare the car for photos, I merely had to run a rag and some interior detailer over the surfaces. The engine compartment is also in great shape with the Lamborghini designed 8.3L V10 breathing through an after market K&N air filter for those few extra ponies. For the purists out there, we do still have the original air filter and it will be included in the sale of the vehicle.

The car currently rides on the later model (and more attactive) Viper wheels and is outfitted with 345/30ZR19 Michellin Pilot Sport Cups on the back and 275/35R18 Michellin Pilot Sports on the front. There is a lot of tread left on the front and back tires and the sticky rubber helps to keep all 500+ horsepower (somewhat) tamed.

In the cabin of the automobile, there is an aftermarket Kenwood stereo installed which utilizes only factory placements in the car. No extra holes were cut to accommodate the aftermarket stereo and it sounds fantastic. It is a massive improvement over the stock and, quite frankly, lack luster stereo.

As far as the driving experience, the car has a short throw shifter installed and runs just as one of these Vipers should! This car pulls in every gear and shifts smoothly into every gear. The exhaust makes a fantastic rumble and the entire experience is simply intoxicating.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, this is a no accident car. It has never been involved in a wreck and has a clear title. No salvage title here.

PLEASE ENJOY THE MANY PICTURES POSTED BELOW!

I am listing this car today with the intention of selling it. Because of that, I have set a reserve which is EXTREMELY REASONABLE for a car with as low mileage as this one and no accident record. I am not here to try and chase a crazy number on the car or get a free appraisal, I have confidence that the car will be sold by auction's end.  That said, the car is listed locally and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. We are open to ending the auction early if a fair offer comes our way. Please, no tire kickers and no dreamers.  If you have any questions about the car or would like to discuss its purchase, please call Vernon at 913.687.1668.  We are located in Overland Park, Kansas which is a suburb of Kansas City. We encourage any potential bidder to come inspect the car in our state of the art showroom. Please call to schedule a time for viewing.

Dodge, Hyundai crowdsourced-funding sites deemed successes

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

What's not to love about crowdsourcing? This idea, after all, has given us Kickstarter as well Local Motors, but automakers are starting to use the social platform to sell more cars (or just drum up a little PR). Both Dodge and Hyundai have used "crowd-funding" recently, and while Automotive News is reporting that neither has racked up big sales with this gimmick, both automakers are pleased with the attention.
For Hyundai, it teamed up with website Motozuma.com to help customers crowdsource money for a down payment, and the automaker matched this amount up to $500. Last year, this helped Hyundai sell an extra 1,600 units, a fraction of its total 2012 sales. That figure is far larger than Dodge fared with the Dodge Dart Registry - it netted only two sales and a small number of individual options. This registry did help University of Southern California fraternity crowdsource $18,000 to buy a Dart for a local Meals on Wheels, however. Despite the low sales figures, Dodge and Hyundai are considering their crowdsourcing programs a success since it helped them connect with younger buyers.

1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express in Generation Gap showdown with 1933 Ford Pickup

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

Auto enthusiasts love a good debate, whether it's Mustang versus Camaro or Ferrari against Lamborghini. But how about a battle between two very different vintages of classic pickup trucks? In this case, the fight is between a 1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express and a 1933 Ford Model 46 truck with a flathead V8.
The shootout comes courtesy of the internet series Generation Gap, and its concept is super-simple. One guy prefers classics, and the other likes newer rides. They choose a category, pick two vehicles and put them head to head. In this case, neither is exactly modern, though. The Ford is more than old enough to receive Social Security checks, and the Dodge is hardly a young whippersnapper.
Other than both being pickups, these two models were made to serve very different functions. The Li'l Red Express was basically the progenitor of today's muscle trucks, with a big V8 that made it one of the quickest new models in its day (admittedly, 1979 was a rough time for automotive performance). On the other hand, the '33 Ford was just meant to work, with little pretense for anything else. One of the hosts describes it as "the simplest, most difficult" vehicle he's driven because of the tricky double clutchwork necessary to shift gears. Scroll down to watch the video and try to decide which of these two American classics you would rather have in your garage.

Chrysler recalling 278,222 trucks and SUVs over bad rear axles

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

Chrysler has issued a recall of 278,222 light trucks and sport utility vehicles here in the United States. The reason: bad rear axles. Specifically, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the rear axle pinion nut may lack a necessary adhesive patch, which could cause the nut to loosen. If this happens, the axle can lock up, which could cause all sorts of havoc on the road.
This is an expansion of the rear axle recall announced in October of last year, where 44,300 Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota models were being called in. At that time, 12 accidents had been reported due to the faulty axle pinion nut.
Affected vehicles include Ram 1500 trucks from the 2009 to 2012 model years, Dodge Dakota models from the 2009 to 2011 model years, and both the Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango SUV twins, both from the 2009 model year only.
