2004 Dodge Sprinter 2500 High Top 140" Wheel Base Cargo Van Powered by the Inline 2.7L Mercedes Diesel making an impressive 156 HP & 243 Ft/Lbs of Torque.  In addition to power & great fuel economy - these sprinters are built and powered by Mercedes and are known to go for hundreds of thousands of miles.  These earlier Sprinters are badged as a "Freightliner" as they when they were exported by Mercedes they were assembled by Freightliner before being badged as a "Dodge".  Same truck, different name tag!  Finished Artic white over a gray interior that has the upgraded interior with keyless entry, power windows, power locks, Traction Control System, clip board on the dash, Stereo system, 5 speed automatic transmission, Ice Cold A/C and much more.
Exterior of this Sprinter is in great shape with the paint holding a deep and glossy finish, the white paint really glows!  Few small touched in marks (some on the hood, very few on the body) you would associate with the year but overall in well above average condition.
Interior is also very clean with no smoking odors, rips or tears.  Take a good look at all the pictures provided to see how clean the seats are, really show little to no wear!  Interior is a nice touch with all the power options & multiple adjustments on the seat - if you plan on spending alot of time behind the wheel you might as well be comfortable!  Simply a pleasure to drive - the 2.7L CRD Mercedes Diesel provides huge power and is REALLY responsive.  I was more than impressed at how powerful these Sprinters feel with normal acceleration, if you are not careful from a stop the traction control kicks in from the tires letting loose!  No check engine lights or no service reminders, 5 Speed Automatic Transmission shifts perfect - truck just does everything right.  Tight, responsive and exceptionally smooth - one of the nicest running and driving sprinters.

NHTSA investigating 110,000 Ram 2500s and 3500s, one death alleged

Fri, 23 May 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation focusing on 110,000 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups from model years 2004 to 2006. One death has already been reported, according to NHTSA, due to a potential fault with the clutch interlocks on manual-transmission versions of the heavy duty pickup.
According to the report, these trucks can be started without depressing the clutch. There have been three reports so far, and as we mentioned above, one very sad incident seems to have resulted in the death of a child.
"One complaint involved an incident that occurred when a child was able to enter the vehicle and start the ignition without depressing the clutch. The vehicle then moved forward striking another child resulting in a fatality," NHTSA said in the investigation bulletin, which you can view below.

NHTSA investigating power modules on Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

The Center for Auto Safety is officially petitioning the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to begin scrutinizing alleged problems with the totally integrated power module (TIPM) on about 24 Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans. The advocacy group claims that the part's failure can cause affected vehicles to stall or not start at all. NHTSA is still looking into the accusations and deciding whether a full investigation is actually warranted.
The CAS petition claims at least 70 TIPM failures, but according to NHTSA, six of the complaints are for models that don't have the modules. In 34 of the reported cases, the vehicles refused to start, and in 17 of them the engine stalled. There were also two allegations of smoke and one of a fire. However, none of these affected airbag deployment or resulted in a crash.
This petition isn't the first TIPM-related problem for Chrysler Group. A recent report in the New York Times alleged that it found 240 complaints potentially related to the issue on NHTSA's website alone. In September, the automaker also recalled 230,760 examples worldwide (188,723 in the US) of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango replace the fuel pump relay circuit inside of the TIPM-7 with one external to the unit. The original part could allegedly cause the models to stall without warning. Even earlier, the company also recalled about 80,000 examples of the Jeep Wrangler and Dodge Nitro in 2007 to have the module reprogrammed.

Dodge shows can-do attitude with grand Can'avan sculpture

Fri, 01 Nov 2013

There are lots of ways to celebrate an important birthday, and all of them are well deserved. You can throw a big party, buy yourself something nice, or - if you're the altruistic type - do something for others in need. The latter is how Chrysler has opted to mark the 30th anniversary of its Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country.
Together with hunger-advocacy organization Canstruction, the Chrysler Foundation has built a full-scale replica of the Grand Caravan out of 30,000 food cans in the square at the corner of Yonge and Dundas in Toronto, a ways down the highway from where the real vans are built in Windsor. The sculpture was built over the course of 10 hours by 30 volunteers and was displayed earlier this week.
Now the installation is being taken down, and the cans of food are being donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank, which will assemble them into 2,000 food baskets to be distributed to those in need through its network of 200 food banks across the Canadian metropolis. Check out a neat time-lapse video of the build and the press release below.
