Up for auction is a nice 1997 Dodge Ram B class travel van. It is equipped with everything you would need to get lost on the raod. It has a sink, hot water heater, stove, fridge and furnace. It has propane for the stove/furnace and electric hook ups for everything else. It is already prewired for a TV, but does not have an antenna. The rear windows are equipped with built in screens to keep the bugs out. There is an electric fan in the top to provide more circulation. There are also some nice skylights which come with curtains if it gets to bright. Other curtains are also included for the front windshield area and all the other windows. It is capable of sleeping 2 comfortably and the sleeping area doubles as an eating area complete with a table that stores up above. The cloth interior is in excellent shape and has never been smoked in. All the cabinets are wood grain and provide abundant storage. This vehicle has ice cold air and a Pioneer cd player with remote. It is approximately 19 feet in length and rests on a 3/4 ton chassis. If you have a boat or trailer, it does include a towing package. All the tires are in good shape with very little wear. The body is rust free, but there are a few small surface areas located behind where the rear plate would attach to the bumper. I personally drove this van to Nashville last fall pulling a 2 place motorcycle trailer and had no issues. It is ready to go so bid with complete confidence! If you have any questions give me a call @ 815-973-four434. I am a licensed Illinois auto dealer so tax, tag and title will be extra if applicable. Thanks for looking and good luck!

Motorweek goes retro with '80s hot hatch shootout

Mon, 03 Nov 2014

Motorweek's decades of history on television make it the perfect medium to look back into the automotive past and see how things are different now. It recently added old road test videos to its YouTube channel of the Acura NSX and Toyota Supra, as well as the Ferrari F40. For one of its newest flashback clips, Motorweek has exhumed an affordable five-car challenge of 1986's premiere hot hatches.
By today's standards, this is an eclectic field that features fondly remembered classics like the Volkswagen GTI 16-valve and Acura Integra. However, it also throws in some nearly forgotten contenders like the Dodge Colt Turbo and Ford Escort GT. The angular Toyota Corolla FX16 GT-S rounds out the group.
It's fascinating to watch Motorweek run the quintet through the slalom, down the drag strip and on various roads. What's most striking in this clip is the difference in the definition of a performance car between then and now. With its 16-valve, 1.8-liter four-cylinder, the GTI is the burliest of the contenders with 123 horsepower, but it still takes 8.8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. By today's standards, that would make it a plain-jane economy car, and not even a particularly quick one.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalls nearly 750k vehicles in two campaigns

Thu, 16 Oct 2014

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling a total of 747,817 vehicles in the US in two separate campaigns recently added to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration database.
The first one covers about 434,581 units of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, and Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 2011-2014 model years with electric hydraulic power steering, the 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 160 amp alternator, according to FCA. In the affected vehicles, it's possible for the alternator to fail without warning and possibly cause the car to stall. According to the documentation submitted to NHTSA, the automaker began investigating the problem in August 2014 and has found possible evidence of one crash caused by the failures but no known injuries.
Customers will begin receiving notification about the recall next month, and obviously the repairs will be done at no cost to them.

2013 Dodge Charger AWD Sport

Tue, 29 Jan 2013

We won't beat around the bush: The all-wheel-drive Dodge Charger is not a brand new car. This generation launched in 2011, AWD models and all. But for 2013, Chrysler has added an optional sport package to the AWD model, available with both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or the sweet, sweet 5.7-liter Hemi V8. The upgrades for this new sport pack are mainly cosmetic; a gloss black grille, new 19-inch alloy wheels and body-colored rear spoiler make up the list of exterior changes. Inside, there are new sport seats and paddle shifters, and the eight-speed automatic transmission has been reflashed for better performance.
But because vehicles like the Dodge Charger mainly stick out in our minds as being rear-drive bruisers, Chrysler wanted to give us the opportunity to test out the LX platform's foul-weather prowess. And perhaps no place more appropriate to test such a system was way up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the dead of winter.
