HI,

I'm selling a 1989 Dodge van that drives/runs well but has a bad frame in the rear from rust underneath.

The van won't pass inspection again. I want to be honest about that important fact.

It has the SUPER RARE 5 SPEED manual trans. Original from the factory.

The transmission works great and the clutch is strong.

The motor is the 3.9 V6 Fuel Injected.  It runs well.

The van has 140K on it. All original.

Has some new parts:  cap, rotor, wires, plugs, one injector, new front upper control arm.

Tires are Michelin and are about 50%.

The interior is not too bad for an 89.

I even had the AC working over the summer.

The van did go to NYC last summer. I got about 20 mpg. for the trip.

The trans will fit any small block Dodge motor 318 (5.2) the 3.9 and the 360 (5.9).

So with any Dodge van up to 1995 you could do an auto to manual trans swap easily.

I was thinking a 318 and a 5 speed would be the perfect combo for a dodge van.

I was going to put the trans into a better body but I'm never going to get to it.

Title is clean

It's still inspected but the frame let loose over the winter.

Teets Scrap Metal is paying $225 a ton so it's worth about $500 in scrap.

But with the super rare 5 speed trans it's worth more.

There are many good parts on this van.

Thanks

Mopar '14 teased, returns to Challenger

Wed, 16 Oct 2013

Every year, Mopar selects one special vehicle from the Chrysler portfolio and creates its own, one-off, special edition. Previously, there was the Mopar '13 Dart, '12 300, '11 Charger and the '10 Challenger, and for 2014, this teaser image shows that the company will be giving the unique treatment to Dodge's muscle coupe yet again.
Mopar has not revealed any details about its '14 Challenger, though the brand's president and CEO, Pietro Gorlier, says that "This limited-edition ride is for muscle-car fans who love high octane and customizable performance." All we know is, it's white, has some blue stripes, and a black (or carbon fiber) rear spoiler.
We'll know more when the Mopar '14 Challenger is revealed at the SEMA show in early November. In the meantime, click the image above to check out the teaser in high resolution, and have a look below for Chrysler's official press blast.

NHTSA investigating 110,000 Ram 2500s and 3500s, one death alleged

Fri, 23 May 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation focusing on 110,000 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups from model years 2004 to 2006. One death has already been reported, according to NHTSA, due to a potential fault with the clutch interlocks on manual-transmission versions of the heavy duty pickup.
According to the report, these trucks can be started without depressing the clutch. There have been three reports so far, and as we mentioned above, one very sad incident seems to have resulted in the death of a child.
"One complaint involved an incident that occurred when a child was able to enter the vehicle and start the ignition without depressing the clutch. The vehicle then moved forward striking another child resulting in a fatality," NHTSA said in the investigation bulletin, which you can view below.

Dodge to reveal Hellcat-powered Challenger in Detroit?

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

On top of all the other performance car debuts slated for next week's Detroit Auto Show, we might be able to add one more to the list - the new, supercharged Hellcat V8 from Chrysler. According to new reports, the rumored 640-horsepower mill is likely to cross the Motor City stage in the engine bay of a Dodge Challenger.
As AllPar points out, though, there may be more news than just the fire-breathing engine. While we've seen spy photos of the Hellcat testing under the hood of the current Challenger, there's a very fair chance that it won't arrive until the muscle car is refreshed later this year. The question now is whether that refresh will be shown off alongside the new engine in Detroit, or if it'll be saved, perhaps for the New York Auto Show.
Other details dug up by AllPar include potential transmissions for the supercharged engine - the Mopar-minded site is expecting an eight-speed automatic or a Tremec six-speed manual. Prices, meanwhile, could be in the same elevated range as the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, at $70,000 to $80,000.
