Ebay Friends, please allow me to apologize on behalf of the unresponsive bidder who train wrecked this auction for everybody else.  Allow me to kindly review again, if you are new to Ebay or simply operate on the fringe of common courtesy, messing up someone else's auction is only hurting people that are actually looking to buy a truck like this one.

Sorry guys!  Here she is again.  A great shop truck, daily driver, rat rod for somebody.

A true survivor!  1991 Dodge D-150 Ram Truck.  Partial restoration.  Very little to complete.  When we got it it was smoking and not running right.  Here's what we did.  New 02 Sensor, new spark plugs, new R134 AC conversion, serviced transmission with front and rear band adjustment, new filter and fluid.  Shifts great.  It's got that electronic torque converter where it feels like OD.  Very cool set up.  We also did an oil lube and filter, new brakes, brand new tires, and snugged up the power steering pump.  The seat was torn and in leu of some gaudy seat cover, we fixed it with a new piece and some upholstery stitching.  Not perfect, but better than a seat cover.  The person before us was trying to put a stereo in it.  It goes with truck and has CD and remote control.  Not sure if it works or not.  Previous owner said it does.  Installation of it would be responsibility of purchaser.

It looks great from 20 feet.  But it has had some paint repair.  Still looks good.  There are some pressure dings in passenger door.  Panel needs to be taken off and then the dents could be pushed out.  It also needs two door arm rest pads.  $47 at JC Whitney.  It also needs a driver door regulator spring.  About $5 at any yard.  We just never got around to it.

Truck runs straight down the road nice.  We got the kick down linkage on it and it shifts and runs correct for that model truck.  Fun to drive.  The windshield wipers, gas gauge, etc. all work, which can be rare on a truck like this.  I disconnected the smog pump since it's silly and the truck runs better without it.

Odometer does not appear to be working.  It shows 99K but runs and shifts good for a truck of this age.  Please don't train wreck my auction.  Check my feedback, as always any and all intelligent questions gladly answered.  Here's a cool video -

2014 Challenger R/T Shaker, Mopar '14 Challenger bring back iconic hood

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

Enamored of the Dodge Challenger but wish you could get one with a shaker hood? We've got good news, because Dodge and Mopar have teamed up to bring it back.
The 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker packs the same 5.7-liter Hemi V8 as the standard Challenger R/T, but upgrades the business end with a through-the-hood exposed cold-air intake system. The retro hood scoop protrudes from the center of the hood in satin black (matching the decklid spoiler) to feed the Hemi and shakes with the engine just like the original from 1970. The Shaker model also comes with a Super Track Pak that adds a new steering rack, brake linings, shocks and 20-inch Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car rubber. You can also shut off the stability management system completely in this car. A series of interior and exterior trim enhancements round out the look. The whole package adds $2,500 to the price of a Challenger R/T Classic for an all-in MSRP of $36,995.
In case that's not enough, Dodge is also offering a limited-edition Mopar Challenger that follows the 2010 Mopar Challenger, 2011 Mopar Charger, 2012 Mopar 300 and 2013 Mopar Dart. Limited to just 100 examples, the 2014 Mopar Challenger gets the same Shaker hood intake, unique graphics and wheels, an enhanced interior and a long list of optional extras from the Mopar parts catalog. Dodge isn't saying just yet how much the Mopar Challenger will cost, but you can bet it will command a considerable premium for the exclusivity alone.

2015 Dodge Charger priced from $27,995, Hellcat from $63,995*

Sun, 19 Oct 2014

Ladies and gentlemen, let's get the most salient bit of information out of the way right off the bat: $63,995*. That's the amount of money Dodge dealers will be asking for (at the very least, naturally) for a 2015 Charger Hellcat (*plus $995 for destination on all pricing figures). That rather reasonable sum will bring home its buyer a 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine boasting a supercharger to post such gaudy figures as 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, leading to a top speed of 204 miles per hour to go along with an NHRA-certified quarter-mile time of 11.0 seconds.
With that out of the way, the rest of the 2015 Dodge Charger pricing information breaks down as follows: $27,995 will deliver a sedan with a 292-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Moving up one step of the ladder nets the buyer an SXT model with the same engine, but a nicer chunk of technology and optional equipment for a $2,000 premium. All-wheel drive adds another $3,000. Hemi V8-powered R/T models now boast an eight-speed transmission bolted to the same well-loved 370-horsepower engine as before, for a base price of $32,995.
The SRT 392 model that had hitherto been the top-performing Charger brings with it an asking price of $47,385 while bargain hunters can equip a Charger R/T Scat Pack machine with that same 485-horsepower 6.4-liter Hemi, albeit with somewhat less posh interior bits and pieces, the removal of the 392's adjustable suspension and hi-po wheel and tire package for $39,995.

Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner

Sat, 24 Aug 2013

For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
