1985 Dodge D150 Base Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 5.9l on 2040-cars
Mountain Home, Idaho, United States
I have for sale a 1985 Dodge Ram D-150 Royal SE for sale. This is a short and wide, meaning it is a regular cab short box. It has A/C (doesn't work, all parts present), cruise, tilt, intermittent wipers, and upgraded factory cassette radio (with a tape stuck in there) with five speakers. It has a new 360ci engine (10,000 miles on it) with an edelbrock aluminum four barrel intake and stock carb, new water pump, fuel pump, alternator, belts, hoses, plugs, motor mounts, and Mopar performance ignition. The engine has headers and new exhaust with a high flow cat and flow through muffler. I have lowered it, replaced all four shocks, rebuilt the front end (except for tie rod ends), added front and rear sway bars and installed all new brakes. It has the HD 727 trans and stock high stall converter with new filter and fluid along with new u-joints. I swapped out the 8 1/4 rear end for a 9 1/4 with a LSD, it does wine at about 35 mph and stops around 45-50 mph and has never given me any problems. The engine has a couple of leaks, and sometimes is hard to start after it is warmed up. Body is in real good shape, with a couple of dents here and there, a scrap on the pass side fender and the pass side turn signal is broken. It does have a little surface rust on the areas where the paint has been burned off by the sun and the road spray has hit the 1/4 panels, but no holes anywhere or heavy scale. The bed does have 1/8 holes drilled around the top edge where a old school tonneau cover was installed. The seat and carpet does have the normal rips/tears from old age and wear. I also have all the stock emission parts that were removed and will be included in the sale. The wheels (all four) are the stock wagon wheel style and it does have the spare currently installed, tires are not the best but do hold air and could get a some more miles out of them. The truck is located in Mountain Home ID, and is sold as-is, where is and no warranty or grantee is implied or offered. I know I have forgot something as I have replaced a ton of parts. I have been working on this truck for about 5 years now, it's been a great little truck and I have had some fun times cruising around in it and using it as my daily driver and will miss it!! I have clean title in hand. I can take more pics of any other area you would like too. I also have an extra grill, tonneau and a Mar-K metal roll pan for extra. NO scams!!!

Ralph Gilles responds to Dodge rumors, says brand is 'here to stay'
Fri, 12 Jul 2013This is why we love Ralph Gilles. While in Italy hanging out with a group of Viper Club members in Europe, the SRT boss took the time to respond to a question directed at him on Instagram in regards to the future of Dodge.
Recent reports have painted a bleak picture for Dodge, but Gilles defended Chrysler's full-line brand by stating that the rumors are, "all rumors, Dodge is here to stay! It may get more focused going forward but not killed!" The idea of a "more focused" Dodge brand could lend some credibility to reports that the Grand Caravan and Durango are on their way out, which would leave Dodge solely as a car, or car-based, automaker.
40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax
Thu, 24 Jul 2014
The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.
1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express in Generation Gap showdown with 1933 Ford Pickup
Fri, 18 Jul 2014Auto enthusiasts love a good debate, whether it's Mustang versus Camaro or Ferrari against Lamborghini. But how about a battle between two very different vintages of classic pickup trucks? In this case, the fight is between a 1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express and a 1933 Ford Model 46 truck with a flathead V8.
The shootout comes courtesy of the internet series Generation Gap, and its concept is super-simple. One guy prefers classics, and the other likes newer rides. They choose a category, pick two vehicles and put them head to head. In this case, neither is exactly modern, though. The Ford is more than old enough to receive Social Security checks, and the Dodge is hardly a young whippersnapper.
Other than both being pickups, these two models were made to serve very different functions. The Li'l Red Express was basically the progenitor of today's muscle trucks, with a big V8 that made it one of the quickest new models in its day (admittedly, 1979 was a rough time for automotive performance). On the other hand, the '33 Ford was just meant to work, with little pretense for anything else. One of the hosts describes it as "the simplest, most difficult" vehicle he's driven because of the tricky double clutchwork necessary to shift gears. Scroll down to watch the video and try to decide which of these two American classics you would rather have in your garage.
