Up for auction is my 1942 Dodge street rod. Runs and drives but needs to be finished. Started the project 4 years ago and losing interest. The frame has been custom made on a laser frame machine and tig welded with 2x4 steel tube and gussets throughout. Rear end is a 8.75 mopar front load narrowed with 4:56 gears posi locked hooked with ladder bar suspension and performance shocks. Drum breaks on rear that work well and 33x18:50 M/T street drag radials NEW. Front axle is a 46 ford truck with conversion disc brakes, brakes are not installed but are included. Steering is manual rack and pinion flaming river chrome and steering column is also flaming river brushed aluminum with GT steering wheel and all steering components are new. All rims are pro star Weld rims. Tranny is new with TCI 2800 stall converter. Cab has been chopped 3 inches with the rear window full size for better view and channeled 6 inches around frame. Engine is used and came out of my 69 cuda and was dyno at 390 hp at the rear wheels and 505 at the crank. It is a 70s 440 with a 800 demon carb (I have a Holley if u preferred that). Electronic ignition with mechanical fuel pump. Open style headers that are LOUD. Front suspension is 4 link with performance shocks. Have rear fenders for the tub and metal to finish inside of tub. I'm sure I've missed sum things so ask questions if you want. Over 12k invested not counting labor another 8k for labor, the frame was 7k itself. This truck was built rite just losing interest and it's costing lots of money. This truck has a green clear title and a street rod dodge vin plate. My loss is yer gain. Starting price almost covers the tubbed rear end so bid to win.

Dodge Dart Mopar '13 special edition recalled over airbag woes

Mon, 09 Dec 2013

Dodge is only building 500 examples of the black-and-blue Mopar '13 Dart, but the majority of them are now being recalled. Part of the Mopar upgrade included replacing the stock seat skins in the Dart with black and blue Katzkin leather, but the seat-mounted side airbags were reinstalled improperly during the upfitting process, which could affect the performance of the front seat side airbags.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration bulletin, a total of 374 Mopar '13 cars are being recalled due to side airbags that might not deploy in a side-impact collision. There have been no reports of the airbags not going off, but Chrysler will still need to reinstall the bags to ensure proper deployment. The recall notice is posted below, which gives information for Mopar '13 owners to contact Chrysler and NHTSA.

Hero gets his truck back better than new thanks to community support [w/video]

Sun, 29 Jun 2014

You ever hear a story and start cringing before you hear the end because you know how it's going to turn out? That could very well have been the case with the story from a few weeks ago in West Valley City, Utah, where a 14-year-old kid stole his grandfather's Hyundai Veloster and took it for a joyride - through a park full of children. But instead it turned into a heart-warming tale of heroism and a community banding together to do what's right... and then some.
Bryson Rowley was that hero who identified the danger and, rather than sit idly by and watch the joyrider potentially run over a child, got into his truck and drove it into the menacing runaway hatchback. The collision caused some $7,500 to his 2008 Dodge Ram 2500, but instead of getting stuck with the bill - one which his insurance may very well have refused to pay since the crash was, technically speaking, intentional - his community pitched in a helping hand.
Bryan Ellison, who owns West Valley Carstar with his brother, saw the news on television and wanted to help. So he brought Rowley a rental car, picked up his truck and brought it back to his auto repair shop. People from around the community donated parts, and when all was said and done, some $15,000 of work and upgrades were performed on the Ram that was returned to an overwhelmed Bryson Rowley better than new. Watch the video below for the full story.
