Hi,

Up for grabs today is a sweet 1935 Dodge 1st series model KC pickup truck.

This is a great Project truck with an all steel body with the exemption of the Grill shell. Glass is all present and both doors roll up and down with ease. The front windshield opens up and is functional. Perfect Original headlights with original glass lenses, and correct Dodge headlight stands. Original dash with the three separate gauges the make it a 1935 1st series. Original seat springs and lower seat support. The truck was from the Barstow, California area for the majority of its life as a silver mining truck and it still retains the 1935 California plates. Reasonably straight body for it's age that is currently just in black primer. Original matching numbers T12 code Flathead 6 218 cubic inch engine with 3 spd. transmission. The engine is complete But I don't know if it turns over, I haven't tried. The box has some weird gravel door in stalled on the tailgate. Very rare to find a 35 first series compared to a 33 or 34. Suicide door truck cooler than a ford or chevy for that year, and much more rare and unique. I just don't have the time to complete this project so it has to move on.

The Truck does not have a title but all the original tags/serial number plates are there and present. I have a bill of sale only. There is a low reserve on the truck.

Please ask any and all Questions BEFORE bidding. I will answer them as soon as humanly possible. The truck will Be sold AS-IS so please ask your wife first.  I can deliver anywhere within 750 miles of Huntington Beach CA  for a fee. Thanks and Good Luck!

Why the Charger Hellcat can't be ordered with a manual transmission

Sun, 16 Nov 2014

Fans of truly irreverent amounts of horsepower will find lots to love in the form of the 2015 Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcat models. Both of them send 707 ridiculous horsepower to the rear wheels; the only question is whether you want your absurdity delivered with two or four doors. Oh, and whether or not you want the option of a manual transmission.
If you prefer rowing your own gears, the choice is made for you; there is no manual gearbox option available on the Charger Hellcat, or any Charger model at all, for that matter. Wonder why? Well, besides the fact that almost nobody - sorry, clutch fans, but it's true - would choose to buy a Charger with a manual transmission, that is? The answer, according to an industry insider in a post written on Jalopnik's Opposite Lock forum, is the floorpan.
It's probably not a surprise to most of our readers that the Dodge Challenger and Charger share a large portion of their chassis structure, which is codenamed LX at Chrysler, but there are still some significant differences under the skin due to the shorter wheelbase and two-door coupe bodyshell of the Challenger, as opposed to the sedan shape of the Charger. One of the differences is the floorpan, the huge chunk of sheetmetal that makes up the floor of the car and props up such essential items as the car's seats.

Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.

Chrysler recalling 780k minivans over fire risk

Fri, 09 May 2014

Chrysler is recalling 780,000 of its Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans from the 2010 to 2014 model years due to the possibility of circuits overheating, which can lead to a fire. Of the 780,000 total vans being recalled, Chrysler estimates that 644,850 are in the US, 106,980 are in Canada, 8,009 are in Mexico, and 20,638 are in other markets. All of the affected vehicles were built between August 25, 2010 and October 31, 2013.
Chrysler's engineers discovered that beverage spills or exposure to moisture (from rain, snow, car washes, and the like) were linked to circuits shorting in the window switch assembly. Short circuits can overheat, and thus, cause a fire.
Chrysler will contact owners and let them know when they may schedule service, at which point, the window switches will be replaced. In the interim, the automaker says that owners may visit their dealers after May 14 to have the switches disconnected.
