1933 Dodge Brothers Pickup., Chopped channeled and shaved to perfection, Earlier restoration of the body, The paint is in good condition and is very showable, It just won 1st place at a car show here in San Antonio with about 200 cars on Fathers day. The Trophy goes with the truck as I am sure it will be the first of many trophies won.
I bought the truck at auction about a year ago and started work on it. Added an brand new motor, a 350 that I had built by a former drag racing crew chief. Its a 350 with custom Alloy heads with 200 fuel rails roller lifters and a matched cam.
Flat top 10.5 to 1 pistons with a custom crank and bearings. 750 Holley double pumper with an electronic ignition set up. New headers and exhaust system. It dynode at 413 HP and for a 1400 lb truck thats more than needed.
a custom 3000 stall and a racing 3 speed trans with Locar shifter. Dolphin Gauges a new billet collum with a new custom wheel, A very nice wood dash and a stereo for some road tunes. Power windows and a nice custom interior.
I had a complete brand new brake system installed with all new rotors drums and master cylinder, I had new brake lines installed and new fittings. It has a 9 inch rear end and new shocks. The exhaust is custom built with hugger headers and chrome and stainless fittings, because the truck sits so low i had NASCAR oval stainless exhaust pipe ran and if you have ever priced that stuff it was not cheap.
I have been a gear head all my life and this is the first Dodge Brothers I have ever seen so I did a little research.
In 1929 the Dodge brothers both died and the company was sold to the Chrysler family. sales of trucks back then was very low and Mr Chrysler wanted to boost sales and also honer the two Dodge Brothers. So in 1933 Mr Chrysler decided to build what he called the glamor truck, He took the sheet metal from the 1933 Dodge Automobile and used it on the pickup in an effort to make the trucks more car like. He also commissioned an artist to make a hood ornament for the truck line. So as you see 1933 was the first Dodge Ram. The Dodge Brothers truck line was produced from 1933 to 1935 and then the name was shortened to Dodge. There were 99,000 plus of these trucks built and over the years the numbers have dwindled to just a few left. most are in collections and if you look for Dodge Brothers pickups you will not find any and what you do find will either be a basket case or in the very high price range, the few show trucks I have found were listed at close to 100K .
This pickup is not perfect, it does have a scratch here and there and a few chips in the paint, If you invest in paint this truck will sell in the 80s but I felt the paint is just too nice to redo now.
I do not need to sell this truck but I have found another project I want to do and if I am going to do it I need the garage space. This truck is very rare and will win everything you enter it in as now one has seen anything like it, So if you are a guy that wants to be the center of attention and have a big crowd around your Hot rod this is the one for you

2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

Wed, 29 Oct 2014

Including all-wheel-drive models, there are ten versions of the 2015 Dodge Charger. The tenth variant - better described as the ten-tenths variant and the topmost model - is this Charger SRT Hellcat.
Superficially, you already know what it is: take the massively powerful Hellcat engine that's Frankensteined into the Dodge Challenger and stitch it into the recently facelifted Charger sedan.
Oh, but that would be superficial knowledge indeed. Russ Ruedisueli, vehicle line executive and head engineer for SRT, claims the Charger Hellcat is, "The industry's most irreverent four-door supercar." We looked up the word "irreverent" in the Oxford dictionaries, and it turns out the word doesn't mean "707 horsepower," nor "650 pound-feet of torque" nor "3.7-second 0-60 time, and seats five adults." It does mean, "Showing a lack of respect for people or things that are generally taken seriously."

SRT back to Dodge, Dart SRT, new Challenger, Charger and Caravan's death outlined in 5-yr plan

Tue, 06 May 2014

The onslaught of news from Fiat Chrysler's layout of five-year plans continued with Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis this morning, including the unexpected announcement that SRT was coming back into the fold.
After just a few years existing as an independent entity within the Fiat Chrysler universe, an unceremonious press release hit in conjunction with today's lineup of announcements, saying "the SRT family of vehicles will be consolidated under the Dodge brand." Group CEO Sergio Marchionne thanked SRT headman Ralph Gilles for his dedication to the high-performance wing, calling out is efforts in expanding the vehicle lineup and including more customized models. He did not reference disappointing SRT Viper sales today, but we sense there's a bit of subtext.
With the SRT reunion at Dodge, it's appropriate that some of the most exciting product announcements for the next five years have to do with upcoming performance products. First out of the gate will be a refresh for that flagging Viper in 2015, which comes as little surprise.

Mopar maneuvers into SEMA with a multitude of modified models

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

As the aftermarket and performance arm of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Mopar has a duty to extract everything from the company's models that it can, and there's no better place to show all of its work off than the annual SEMA Show.
Dodge really gets in on the act this year with several customs to show off different parts of the brand's performance heritage. Perhaps the most interesting among them is the track-prepped Viper ACR Concept (pictured above). It wears a custom body kit to produce even more downforce, thanks in no small part to a monstrous wing at the back. To shed weight, most of the interior is stripped out, as well. Next up, the Challenger T/A Concept takes inspiration from '70s Trans-Am racing in a livery of Sublime Green and matte black paint. The center scoop in the hood keeps the 6.4-liter V8 fed with cool air, and the special's 20-by-9.5-inch matte black wheels keep it planted in the corners.
Also getting the once-over from Mopar is the Charger R/T. It wears the division's body kit, and under the hood, a cold-air intake keeps the 5.7-liter V8 breathing. The suspension is retooled to hold the road better with a coil-over kit, upgraded sway bars and strut tower braces for the front and rear. The company is also showing off a snazzy blue Charger with a mean look. The final Dodge getting work from Mopar is the Dart R/T Concept with bright, O-So-Orange paint and a matte black hood with a scoop hooked directly to the air intake. The performance-oriented design is finished off with a coil-over suspension and big brake kit, as well.
