**I HAVE DECIDED TO RELIST MY TRUCK, AGAIN, DUE TO NON-PAYMENT BY PREVIOUS BIDDER/AUCTION WINNER. PLEASE BID WITH CARE.**

I am selling my 1998 Dodge Durango SLT 4x4. I just purchased myself a new Lincoln Navigator, and no longer need my Durango. I have also listed this locally, and will be ending auction early if it sells. I bought my Durango in February of this year, as transportation for my family, @ approx. 100k miles. It now has 122k miles on it, mostly highway. This truck has been my daily driver. I bought it with the 20" Chrome Rims that are still installed on it. They are showing signs of wear (some pitting, a little cracking), but still look relatively good and serve their purpose. I did not buy it with it's original wheels.

 -PROs-
When I purchased it, I gave it a full tune-up & oil change ($200), installed a new headlight switch ($20), installed new fog light bulbs ($16), installed new wiper blades ($20), PCV Valve, Air Filter, installed a new battery ($135), bought brand new tires for it ($900), installed new Kickers Speakers ($200), and a Pioneer Head Unit ($280). Oil has been changed every 3,000. It originally came with Infinity Sound, and still has it's original tweeters. The new Pioneer Head Unit features hands free calling, bluetooth, Pandora, I-Phone Compatible, etc. It has been reliable for me as my everyday driver. It won't be needing new tires or brakes for a good while. The engine is in great condition, and the 5.2l v8 packs impressively responsive pick-up. The transmission is in great shape as well. The 4x4 works flawlessly. It has a towing package. It has 3rd Row Leather Seating, and seats up to 8. There are backseat/rear climate controls as well. It has running boards, mud flaps, and rain guards all around... fully loaded package. I just had the oil changed at Jiffy Lube also. The tires also have a warranty through NTB.

 -CONs-
The Durango is rusted along the running boards, on both the driver, and passenger side. There is some rust along the bottom of the trunk/lift gate, and a little along the front fenders. I was quoted $750 by a body tech, to remove/touch-up all the rust spots. It needs a new neutral safety switch (I have the part, and am willing to provide it). This repair can be done by yourself at home. The truck still starts, runs, and drives flawlessly!! I have a Repair Manual as well that I am willing to provide you with also. There is also a small leak coming from the lower trans line, and I've been topping off approx. 1/4 quart of trans fluid with each oil change, to maintain it's level. The transmission does not slip.

Overall, this Durango is a trooper, and has many years ahead of it. This will be a great, safe, reliable vehicle for someone this winter. It still looks really nice, regardless of the rust. When it's clean, everything shines like it's brand new!! It's a shame to have to see it go.

I am located in Hoffman Estates, IL. I have a clean title, in hand.

PLEASE contact me with ANY questions. I'd be more than happy to address any inquiries, or concerns. Please, feel free to come see the vehicle, and test drive it before auction close. PLEASE, serious bidders only. Please, do not bid if you cannot afford this truck. Please, do not bid if you plan on disappearing when it's time to make the payment and accept delivery of the vehicle. I'm a young mom, and don't have time to be playing games with anyone. I am using the money from this truck as a deposit towards our new home, so please, just be courteous and take a moment to ask yourself if this is what you want, and if you can afford this, before bidding. Thank you VERY much for your time :)

SRT back to Dodge, Dart SRT, new Challenger, Charger and Caravan's death outlined in 5-yr plan

Tue, 06 May 2014

The onslaught of news from Fiat Chrysler's layout of five-year plans continued with Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis this morning, including the unexpected announcement that SRT was coming back into the fold.
After just a few years existing as an independent entity within the Fiat Chrysler universe, an unceremonious press release hit in conjunction with today's lineup of announcements, saying "the SRT family of vehicles will be consolidated under the Dodge brand." Group CEO Sergio Marchionne thanked SRT headman Ralph Gilles for his dedication to the high-performance wing, calling out is efforts in expanding the vehicle lineup and including more customized models. He did not reference disappointing SRT Viper sales today, but we sense there's a bit of subtext.
With the SRT reunion at Dodge, it's appropriate that some of the most exciting product announcements for the next five years have to do with upcoming performance products. First out of the gate will be a refresh for that flagging Viper in 2015, which comes as little surprise.

Challenger A/T Unlimited Concept could be your next Hellcat-powered ORV

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

This past June I spent an excellent day hanging out with Joey Ruiter, driving and discussing his Reboot Buggy project. Before heading home, I let him know that he was more than welcome to keep me abreast of whichever new automotive project he'd get into. You can never have too many car designers and one-off fabricators in your Rolodex, right?
Ruiter recently made good with the follow-up, emailing me with details on this Dodge Challenger A/T Untamed Concept that pushes a lot of hot buttons for the muscle car and off-roading enthusiasts.
This all-terrain Mopar is a lot more than a Challenger body dropped on a truck chassis, too. A materialized version of the A/T would included a completely new, long-travel suspension, skid plates, body armor and rock sliders, and obviously flared fenders to help accommodate a hellacious set of off-road-ready tires. The dramatically revised underpinnings would be topped with a slick graphics package and a killer lower light bar, all making the A/T look quite cohesive in its own, radical way. And the result would be a car no longer limited to mere road-driving.

2013 Dart GT will hold us over until SRT stokes Dodge's handsome compact

Tue, 08 Jan 2013

No, this isn't quite the Dart SRT4 we've been waiting for - and still believe is coming - but as part of its 2013 Detroit Auto Show lineup, Dodge will be showing off the slightly sportier Dart GT seen here.
Building on the already well-equipped Limited model, the GT adds performance enhancements including a more powerful engine, 18-inch aluminum wheels, sport suspension calibration, unique front fascia and dual exhaust. Inside, you'll find perforated Nappa leather seats, a heated steering wheel and front seats, dual-zone climate control, remote start (if you spec the automatic transmission), Chrysler's 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, a seven-inch TFT display in the gauge cluster, and a whole lot more. Optional goodies include hyper black aluminum wheels, a technology group (pushbutton start, keyless go, rain-sensing wipers, blind spot monitoring and smart-beam headlamps), power sunroof, Sirius radio, Garmin navigation, Alpine premium sound and high-intensity discharge headlamps.
Powering the Dart GT is Chrysler's 2.4-liter MultiAir2 four-cylinder engine producing 184 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. That grunt is sent to the front wheels via a standard six-speed manual transmission, but a six-speed automatic 'box is optional.
