1972 Dodge Dart Swinger 8 Cylinder 318 on 2040-cars
Damascus, Maryland, United States
Beautiful 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger 318 8 cylinder motor. Runs very strong. About 80% restored cosmetically. Original motor with recent tune-up. Car has been driven from Maryland to North Carolina twice in the last 6 months with no problems at all. The car is rare and is a great spring cruiser. Recent repairs include new radiator, exhaust, voltage regulator, starter, battery and tune up. The seats all look like new, interior door panels show a little wear but are still in decent shape. The radio does not work. The AC blows but not cold. AC will need to be converted. Still needs a few small things. The gauge cluster is not working and needs to be fixed. The windshield has a small chip and will needs the seal replaced soon, it leaks a little on the passenger side in heavy rain. The trunk seal will also need to be replaced soon for the same reason. A few bulbs need to be switched out including the left turn signal and the driver side brake light. There is some minor rust on the bumpers, they both need to be cleaned and polished. There's also a little rust on the exhaust tips and a few very small areas around the rear windshield. Not rusted through, just a little starting to show there. I'm not sure of the exact mileage, as I said the cluster isn't working and stopped at 80k. I've driver the care approx 2000 miles per year for the past 4 years with no major problems. If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask. I'm happy to take any extra pics and send them if requested. Overall the car would rate about a 7.5 out of 10. Maybe a little better. It's a beautiful cruiser that runs strong and turns a lot of heads! Good luck bidding!!

2013 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee
Tue, 12 Mar 2013I can pinpoint the exact moment when I fell in love with this car. It was starting down a nearly straight entrance ramp at 15 miles per hour when I buried the throttle. In a moment, I was thrown back into my seat as the big SRT8's engine came to life with commensurate sound, fury and force, bringing me up to 75 mph in what felt like two blinks of an eye. This thing feels so much quicker than its 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque would lead you to believe. And mashing the right pedal never, ever gets old.
But beyond sheer speed, I found a whole lot to like about the Charger SRT8 during my week with the Pitch Black test car here in Detroit. And while the whole Super Bee kit isn't really my style, it's really easy to overlook those badges for a package that offers so much for so little.

Toyota, Lexus dominate KBB's Best Resale Value Awards
Tue, 19 Nov 2013Toyota and Lexus stormed the 2014 Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards, winning a combined 18 categories including best brand and best luxury brand. This marks the third year in a row that both automakers have won the Brand and Luxury Brand resale value awards. In all, Toyota won 11 categories and Lexus won seven.
Honda made a good showing, as well, winning two segments (Accord Plug-In Hybrid and Civic Si) and putting one car on the top-10 Best Resale Value list (CR-V). Chevrolet did even better, winning two segments (with the V6 Camaro and the Corvette) and placing three cars on the top-10-overall list (again, the Camaro and Corvette, plus the Silverado 1500).
The other winners came from Jeep, Dodge, Infiniti, Subaru and Audi. To give you a clearer picture of the Toyota and Lexus domination, their 18 mentions represents more than half of the 34 awards (including the top-10-overall list).
Dodge Charger Hellcat hitting 60 in 2.9 seconds on drag radials?
Thu, 02 Oct 2014The Dodge boys and their cousins from SRT have shoehorned the same 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V8 into both the Dodge Challenger and Charger. The former being a two-door, it's lighter than the latter four-door sedan. So it would stand to reason that the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would be the quicker of the two, right?
Only that's not necessarily proving to be the case. On stock rubber, yes, the coupe beats the sedan: Dodge quotes a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds for the Charger SRT Hellcat and 3.5 for the Challenger. Same gap across the quarter-mile: 11 seconds flat for the Charger versus 10.8 seconds for the Challenger. But according to recent reports, the story changes when you put both on drag radials.
While visiting Chrysler HQ in Auburn Hills, MI, TorqueNews.com caught wind of performance figures for the Charger Hellcat on drag tires: 0-60 in a mind-blowing 2.9 seconds and a quarter-mile in just 10.7. The latter figure just barely pips the Hellcat-powered Challenger's NHRA-certified figure of 10.8, making the Charger not only the fastest sedan on the market, but also the fastest muscle car. What isn't immediately clear, however, is whether the drag radials in question have any tread on them and are street-legal, or if they're pure slicks confined to a closed strip.
