For your consideration,

1968 dodge dart HURST HEMI LO23 Replica.  This vehicle has received a nut and bolt rotisserie restoration. Underside was done in correct stone grey single stage paint, allowing the underside of car to be wiped down and kept at a mirror under the car status. Fiberglass front end, acid dipped doors, paired with an always rust free laser straight body were treated to the ultimate show car period correct paint job.  That's correct, CANDY APPLE RED TRANS LACE PAINT JOB OVER  THE DEEPEST SHINIEST JET BLACK I'VE EVER SEEN!  Base/clear beauty! Period correct HURST DECALS ON HOOD, DECKLID, DOORS ,ETC.  Decals are removable, but don't do it.....this thing gets so much attention it causes traffic accidents from rubbernecking. The tires are a one off pair of pie crust retro drag slicks, made out of solid white rubber!  Not a coating, it's solid white rubber, to where the redline divides the black rubber. Hurst drag slicks made these tires at my request, they said they will not make another set, too difficult .....so these are the only set in the world.....ever.   A complete set of traditional drag slicks front and rear mounted to identical cragars also go with the car..they are immaculate.  That's 2 complete sets of tires and rims.   Engine has only enough miles to break in and dial it in.  Dyno 654 on pump, 712 on 104 octane. Currently street legal on pump gas. Registered and insured. Battery mounted in trunk correctly, trunk is immaculate.

Watch this Dodge Viper get clawed to death

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

There's a scene in the James Bond movie, Casino Royale, where Daniel Craig's Agent 007 is captured by villain Le Chiffre, played by Mads Mikkelsen. Le Chiffre tortures Bond in a scene that is rather difficult to watch (especially for blokes) and impossible to describe on these digital pages (Google at your own risk). This video is the automotive equivalent of the Casino Royale torture scene.
It shows a Dodge Viper - a late, first-generation GTS judging by the center-exit exhausts - getting assaulted by a giant piece of heavy equipment. The large claw shows no mercy on the V10-powered sports car, rending its muscular curves into pieces and then running it over, just for good measure. It's a painful video to watch (and hear!), made worse because we don't know what the Viper did to deserve such a fate. About a third of the way through the video, the cameraman indicates that the man with the claw is a new operator from Chrysler, and it appears there may be some fire damage, but beyond that, we don't have much to go on.
Scroll down for the video but be warned, it isn't for the faint of heart.

2015 Dodge Charger shows off its new look in New York [w/videos]

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

With a new look inspired largely by the Dart compact, the 2015 Dodge Charger made its New York Auto Show debut today. Along with the interior and exterior changes, an eight-speed automatic becomes standard across the range.
What hasn't changed is the choice of engines under the Charger's long hood. A 3.7-liter V6 serves as the base mill, and can be had in both rear- and all-wheel-drive varieties, while the 5.7-liter V8 is an optional item and can be had in rear-drive only. Outputs are also carried over from last year, with 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque for the six-pot, while the Hemi V8 delivers 370 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque.
The new exterior treatment is a fairly large departure from the styling tone set by the Charger since its reintroduction to the US market in 2006. The blacked-out, crosshair grille and new headlamps are the biggest changes for 2015, though there are other, less immediately noticeable updates, such as the more rounded "Racetrack" taillamps that, like the front fascia, draw some inspiration from the Dart.

Detroit's new fleet of donated police cars have safety issues [w/video]

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

In a show of generosity in mid-August, Detroit's business leaders donated $8 million to the Police Department and Fire Department in order to buy 100 new police vehicles and 23 EMS ambulances. But now officers have discovered - and complained - that the police vehicles have glaring safety issues, Deadline Detroit reports. It is not made clear what models of the fleet vehicles - which include police versions of the Ford Taurus, the Chevrolet Caprice and the Dodge Charger - are affected by the safety issues.
Officers reportedly have complained that the Plexiglass partition separating front-seat officers and back-seat prisoners is easily breached, and that the front passenger seat is installed too close to the dashboard. Prisoners who manage to writhe out of their handcuffs can bend the Plexiglass and reach into the cockpit, and sitting too close to the dashboard can render airbags more dangerous and make officers more vulnerable to injury in a crash.
Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, received the complaints and reportedly said the vehicles would get safety updates addressing the issues. But Deadline Detroit reports that it checked some of the offending police cars and, as of the last few days, they hadn't been updated.
