This is an extremely rare and nice and very solid rolling shell for your 1968 coronet 500 convertible project...This car is extremely solid and much of the hard work has already been done!!!

you don't find frames and floors in this nice of shape often when it comes to a project b-body convertible from 68 to 70.

If you have rusty coronet convertible, this is the one to move over your parts to and you are well on your way toward having a great mopar muscle car.

or If you want a blank canvas for a charger convertible or special pro touring coronet convertible this is a great place to start.

this is a clear title car with the original fender tag and original dash frame and original vin.

it is a rolling shell and we will help you load it or we will deliver to Carlisle, pa for you at the Chrysler at Carlisle show for 450.00. ( car and transport must be paid in advance for the delivery to take place. DELIVERY MUST TAKE PLACE ON THURSDAY OR FRIDAY AT CARLISLE!

What you see in the pics on this auction and in the photobucket is what you get...there is a trans that come with the car and there is another non matching number 318 engine and transmission that will also come with the car..the condition of the engine and trans and the trans in the car are unknown and should be considered cores for your rebuild if you need them.

this car is available for inspection by you or someone else that you arrange to have look at it.  if you do not come see the car or have someone else look at it, you are giving your acceptance as to the condition and quality of the car and any body work that has been done to it.

THE CAR IS AVAILABLE FOR SALE LOCALLY AND I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME, BUT THIS CAR WILL SELL TO THE HIGH BIDDER.

here is a photo bucket with extensive pics of the car:

the rear frame, floors, quarters, and wheel wells have been worked on and are very very clean and solid.  the tail panel of this car is in amazing shape and has been replaced.

there are some other areas that are easy repairs, but I really do believe a great deal of the work has been done.

I did not do any of the body work and I am not a body man, but others who have looked at the car feel the body work is pretty good.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO BUILD A 100,000 MOPAR CONVERTIBLE, THIS IS PROBABLY NOT THE ONE FOR YOU...BUT IF YOU ARE ARE DOING A BUDGET BUILD

OR DRIVER/LOCAL SHOW TYPE CAR, THIS ONE WILL PROBABLY FIT THAT BILL WITH THE ADDITIONAL WORK/PARTS IT NEEDS TO BE FINISHED.

South Dakota dealer filled to brim with classic cars

Wed, 12 Mar 2014

Other than the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Mount Rushmore, South Dakota isn't generally a hot topic, but that just means that cool stuff can hide in the open waiting to be discovered. Case in point: the classic car dealer Frankman Motor Company that operates three locations in Sioux Falls, SD.
Unearthed by the folks at Bring a Trailer, Frankman is a treasure trove of vintage, American iron. Their collection is full of the type of vehicles your irresponsible but cool uncle would show up with when you were a kid. Even better, these cars are priced at a level a working man can afford.
If you are lusting about a cruiser then Frankman has a 1956 Cadillac Deville Hard Top Sedan (pictured right) with 82,896 miles for $12,975. It's painted a color called Cascade Grey, but looks more like a pastel purple in pictures. While it needs some repairs to the accessories, the Caddy runs and drives, which is all you really need.

Challenger A/T Unlimited Concept could be your next Hellcat-powered ORV

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

This past June I spent an excellent day hanging out with Joey Ruiter, driving and discussing his Reboot Buggy project. Before heading home, I let him know that he was more than welcome to keep me abreast of whichever new automotive project he'd get into. You can never have too many car designers and one-off fabricators in your Rolodex, right?
Ruiter recently made good with the follow-up, emailing me with details on this Dodge Challenger A/T Untamed Concept that pushes a lot of hot buttons for the muscle car and off-roading enthusiasts.
This all-terrain Mopar is a lot more than a Challenger body dropped on a truck chassis, too. A materialized version of the A/T would included a completely new, long-travel suspension, skid plates, body armor and rock sliders, and obviously flared fenders to help accommodate a hellacious set of off-road-ready tires. The dramatically revised underpinnings would be topped with a slick graphics package and a killer lower light bar, all making the A/T look quite cohesive in its own, radical way. And the result would be a car no longer limited to mere road-driving.

Dodge idles Viper production again at Conner Avenue

Mon, 07 Jul 2014

You've got to hand it to Dodge for having the gumption to put the original Viper into production in the first place. It was, after all, much more of an emotional decision than a practical one, and a move which saw the first production V10 engine placed in a road car - long before the advent of the Lamborghini Gallardo, Audi R8, Porsche Carrera GT or Lexus LFA, not to mention the other Ford, BMW and Volkswagen Group models that used such engines.
It's now been 22 years since the first Viper entered production and the Viper still rolls on several generations later, but we're sad to say that courageous decision has not always been met with overwhelming sales success. In fact parent Chrysler was forced to idle the Conner Avenue plant where the Viper is made back in April due to slow sales. And while production resumed again as planned on June 23, it apparently didn't do the trick.
As a result, Chrysler corporate communications chief Shawn Morgan revealed to Autoblog that the assembly line has been shut down again for another two weeks. The line was up and running for nearly two full work weeks from June 23 until the holiday weekend that started on Thursday, July 3. But instead of coming back online today as planned, it's been idled again for the weeks of July 7 and 14. That means it will be July 21, at the earliest, before the serpentine supercars start slithering down the assembly line at Conner Avenue again. Once it does, however, production is set to resume at the same pace it was before the shutdown.
