Kissimmee, Florida, United States

Up for sale is this super clean 2010 Dodge Charger SXT with the High Output 3.5. This Charger was involved in hurricane Sandy and is being sold with a flood salvage certificate. The car does not appear to be a high flood. When we received the car the dash lit up displaying the mileage and also telling you the doors were open or closed, the power locks worked, the interior dome lights all worked, the headlights and tail lights worked, and also the fog lights worked.
I brought the car to a electrician who specializes in flood cars and he said the car will need the lower fuse box and module located on the lower dash panel and a new immobilizer. He removed these items and they had some corrosion. This was not a high flood but it will need some work to get it running again. The fuse box and battery in the trunk are perfect and has no corrosion at all. Thats what leaves us to believe this was a low water flood. The engine and transmission are 100%. All the fluids are clean and we do not believe any water entered or damaged any of the drivetrain. The body of this car is super clean and the interior is very nice as well. When we got the vehicle the dash lit up and it said the vehicle had  48,868 miles on it. This looks like it was a very well taken cared of vehicle and is totally worthy of being fixed up and put back on the road again. This vehicle will have to be towed to its new located when you purchase it.
The exterior and interior of this car all all intact and we have the floor mats for the car as well as the electronic key for it. As I mentioned, the exterior is super clean with no blemishes to mention at all except for a crack in the windshield. All the body panels and paint are all original and this vehicle has never been in any accidents at all. This is also a ONE OWNER vehicle.
The interior is all intact as well and in great condition. There is no wear at all anywhere on the interior of this car. This car is complete and all intact and will make a nice car for someone who wants to put alittle time and money into it.
This car is being sold as-is, where-is, and there is no warranties expressed or implied. This vehicle has a salvage flood title. It is your responsibility as the buyer to know the requirements and procedures of registering a salvage vehicle in your state. If you would like to see the car in person before bidding, you are more than welcome to do so. Also, feel free to ask me about the buy-it-now price. I will assist in any way possible in having the car shipped to you at your cost. A $500 non-refundable deposit must be made within 24 hours on the auctions end. The remaining balance must be paid in full by 3 days after the closing of the auction unless other arrangements are discussed with me in advance. With that being said, feel free to email, call, or text me at anytime if you have any questions or concerns. My name is Miguel and my number email is miguelhernandez339@gmail.com. Thanks and good luck bidding!

I sold my Viper, but the memories I'll keep

Thu, 30 May 2013

The following is written by auto industry veteran Tow Kowaleski. The words are his own, but the memories now belong to everyone thanks to his willingness to share. If you're an industry veteran with a story to share, contact us at tipsATautoblogDOTcom.
It became the flame that started the fire of belief in the next life of Chrysler.
I just sold a car. Nothing new. Millions do it every day. But my car was a 1995 Dodge Viper, so maybe it was a bit more unique since just 12,000 were built. And like others selling a car that's been a part of the family for close to 20 years, this was a confluence of emotions for me. I was sad to see it go, but happy to have the cash and one less big, shiny, under-utilized object in my life.

Dodge Challenger spied exercising supercharged Hellcat Hemi V8

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

One of the prime complaints against the Dodge Challenger is that, even in SRT8 guise, its 470 horsepower is responsible for hauling over 4,200 pounds of vehicle. For comparison, the 420 hp in the Ford Mustang GT only has to deal with 3,618 lbs. Things only get worse from there, as the higher-performance variants of both the Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro are far more powerful than an SRT8 without adding on much heft.
So what is Chrysler to do? The correct answer is add a whole lot more grunt to its hefty two-door and even the odds. That's where the all-new Hellcat engine comes into play. We reported on this engine in May, and suggested that the Hellcat, a supercharged powerplant based on a 6.4-liter V8, would easily generate 500 to 570 hp and could likely arrive boasting more than 600 ponies.
Chrysler's ace in its sleeve has now been spied testing, with a number of Hellcat-equipped Challengers running the potent new engine both in more urbanized areas and under the sun of Death Valley. The hoods on these testers have been raised to accommodate the engine, and that camouflage over the fascias of these prototypes is there to hide a larger air intake. We also note what appears to be a new split grille under wraps. As for power output, our spies are now suggesting a Viper-equalling 640 hp from the Hellcat-equipped cars.

NHTSA investigating power modules on Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

The Center for Auto Safety is officially petitioning the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to begin scrutinizing alleged problems with the totally integrated power module (TIPM) on about 24 Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans. The advocacy group claims that the part's failure can cause affected vehicles to stall or not start at all. NHTSA is still looking into the accusations and deciding whether a full investigation is actually warranted.
The CAS petition claims at least 70 TIPM failures, but according to NHTSA, six of the complaints are for models that don't have the modules. In 34 of the reported cases, the vehicles refused to start, and in 17 of them the engine stalled. There were also two allegations of smoke and one of a fire. However, none of these affected airbag deployment or resulted in a crash.
This petition isn't the first TIPM-related problem for Chrysler Group. A recent report in the New York Times alleged that it found 240 complaints potentially related to the issue on NHTSA's website alone. In September, the automaker also recalled 230,760 examples worldwide (188,723 in the US) of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango replace the fuel pump relay circuit inside of the TIPM-7 with one external to the unit. The original part could allegedly cause the models to stall without warning. Even earlier, the company also recalled about 80,000 examples of the Jeep Wrangler and Dodge Nitro in 2007 to have the module reprogrammed.
