1970 DODGE CHARGER 500......  for those of you interested no introduction needed ... This is a timeless classic that was put away in 1985 ... unfortunately it is not mint , but this car has a lots of potential ... I would have to say the body is in very nice condition for sitting around for 28 years ... " BARN FIND" ...  We have not confirmed yet , but this classic should be a matching number car , and I quote " SHOULD BE" ... Currently not running , the previous owner had plans on getting it running and found a few problems, some stuck valves  ... ( hopefully I will get some more detailed information within the next few weeks ) .. the interior looks to be tampered with and of course a few mice had there way .... seats are in great condtion ... have lots more pictures ... I would call this car a good 7/10 for a restoration project .. very litte deep rust problems ... this car was not left out in a field .... purchased used in 1983 , drove into a open barn .. then moved in a fulling inclosed barn .. Car did spend two seasons out side years ago and was destine to go out side again when I found this unit ..... To recap .... Car was originally gold , but was repainted prior to 1983 to current color ..... for 30 years the owner did not tamper with the unit .. just enjoyed driving it , and when life got to busy he put it away with plans to re-do the car one day  ... This is a Alberta Canada car .. I believe the seats are original , but the inserts where changed to velvet ? this car is there .... appears at one time the left front could have been in a fender bender .. bondo showing .. but the rest of the car is pretty solid .. very few troubled area's ... have lots of pictures upon request

Chrysler recalling 278,222 trucks and SUVs over bad rear axles

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

Chrysler has issued a recall of 278,222 light trucks and sport utility vehicles here in the United States. The reason: bad rear axles. Specifically, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the rear axle pinion nut may lack a necessary adhesive patch, which could cause the nut to loosen. If this happens, the axle can lock up, which could cause all sorts of havoc on the road.
This is an expansion of the rear axle recall announced in October of last year, where 44,300 Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota models were being called in. At that time, 12 accidents had been reported due to the faulty axle pinion nut.
Affected vehicles include Ram 1500 trucks from the 2009 to 2012 model years, Dodge Dakota models from the 2009 to 2011 model years, and both the Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango SUV twins, both from the 2009 model year only.

Chop the top of your new Dodge Viper for $35,000

Mon, 21 Jul 2014

We have good news, and we have bad news. First, the good: It's now possible to get a brand-new Dodge Viper roadster, which is nice, considering we're in the dead of summer and many of us like wind-in-the-hair motoring. Now, the bad: This is not a factory option from the automaker, instead coming courtesy of an aftermarket company called Prefix Performance, and that means it's going to cost you some serious coin.
Called Medusa, this drop-top Viper was created without the knowledge or consent of Dodge, but that's probably fine because Prefix works with the automaker already for the final preparation of the American supercar, including paint. According to the company, the current, fifth-gen Viper was built with a convertible version in mind, so no chassis strengthening is required. From the looks of the somewhat grainy photos available, the conversion appears of very high quality.
Want one? Well, that means you're going to need to procure a Viper - Prefix has 10 units ready for transformation as it stands - and that's going to cost at the very least $102,485. Then, you'll need to write a check for an additional $35,000 for Prefix to surgically remove the car's roof. Thing is, for that kind of cash, a prospective owner could buy, among other very nice options, a Viper hardtop and a loaded Miata, or a Corvette Stingray convertible and several pockets full of change. Or, perhaps a new Viper hardtop and a used, first-gen Viper convertible?

2014 Dodge Durango teaser reveals new 'racetrack' taillights

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

Not wanting to let Jeep get all of the SUV attention for the 2014 model year, Dodge is unveiling a refreshed version of its Durango at the New York Auto Show. Teased in this image, all we can really tell about the 2014 Dodge Durango is that it will be getting Dodge's "racetrack" taillights similar to the Charger and Dart.
The chrome or painted strip currently between the Durango's Zorro taillamps have been removed to allow for a full-width LED array with "DODGE" lettering displayed more prominently above the license plate pocket. Parent company Chrysler also promises that the updated Durango will add "several new class-exclusive features," but stops short of saying what those are. Earlier reports suggest that among the changes, buyers will be able to look forward to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which ought to improve the three-row SUV's fuel efficiency.
