First off, This is not an original convertible ! It started off as a 1971 2 dr hardtop Challenger. 383 4 spd blue non R/T.  This is an orig. export car that spent its life in Lebanon. Don't know anything about the conversion. Could have been done there or somewhere in the states, not sure. The car still looks very presentable, and is considered driver quality. The car sat in a heated garage for 15 years and not driven. I purchased the car 4 or 5 years ago and finally got it running and have only driven it maybe 2-300 miles. No time and have moved on to next project.

The trunk and floors appear to be very solid. Some glue residue from carpet being glued in.  I think it had front floor pans installed also . When the conversion was done, they definately had a donor convertible for parts, as most everything from that car was used. Looks good from outside. Could have spent a little more time with some of the brackets and stuff behind rear seat, but isn't terrible. , only missing a few things, such as a convertible back seat, rear panels are repops and are green. Not factory style carpet, should be replaced. Top is in good shape, although the motor for the top does not work. I have put the top down manually, but it doesn't go all the way down because it has the wrong backseat.I think it still has hdtp side windows too. Dash and front door panels are descent driver quality, Check out the kph speedo ! When was the last time you saw one of these?

Outside of the car looks good,( not perfect) It does have scratches here and there and a some imperfections. The door and fender gaps could have been tighter also. Bumpers could use a rechrome and the grill has a few small cracks near the tabs, like most of them do. Tail lights are nice. Driver and pass. windows are scratched too.

Motor is a non numbers matching 383 4bbl from a 1971 dodge pickup. Runs ok, but rear main leaks, needs possible clutch work, exhaust needs replaced. Brand new tires, 15x7 wheels in front and 15x8 in back. Rear is 3.91 non posi. Frame ties were also installedCheck out the pics, should help with a lot of questions. My reserve is set at half what it would cost to purchase a real convert in similar condition. In my honest opinion, I think if a person was to stick $3-4000 in this car you would have a nice e-body drop top driver.

I hope I didn't make the car sound too bad, just want to be as honest as I coan. I have had a lot of people look at the car and cant believe it was converted. I wish I knew the complete history of this car. The only story I got was it was in Lebanon and was used as a wedding car. Not sure what that means, but the story should stay with the car.

$500.00 deposit is due within 24 hrs. and the balance is due via money order or cashiers check within 7 days. If not vehicle will be relisted. I don't care to hear about a death in the family, or any bad circumstance in your life. I have enough grief of my own and don't want to add to it. Thank you. Also, I will be out of town from the 5th to the 8th of September.  I also took a short video of the car running. If you would like to see this I can try and email it to you. I couldn't get it to load. Thanks

PLEASE ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE? IF YOU DONT FEEL COMFORTABLE BIDDING PLEASE DONT. CAR IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION ANYTIME !!!!!

On Aug-30-14 at 19:33:19 PDT, seller added the following information:

Had a question about storage and shipping. I can store the car inside for a reasonable amount of time, but I would like to discuss the situation prior to the end of the auction. As far as shipping, I will assist in helping load the car on a transporter. Setting up the shipper and the cost of shipping will be the new owners responsibility if the reserve is met. Also like I said in description, I will be out of town from the 5th to the 8th of sept. So please don't wait till the last minute to ask questions. Thanks again

Chrysler investigating complaints of vehicles with faulty power modules

Sun, 24 Aug 2014

Chrysler owners are hopping mad after experiencing a series of electrical gremlins in some of the company's vehicles. Issues range from mere annoyances - windows rolling down and radios turning off of their own accord - to serious safety issues, with headlights that randomly shut off at night and cars that stall and refuse to start.
The issues are being blamed on the total integrated power module, which can cost up to $1,000 for customers to replace. This, of course, has led to a hefty batch of complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, with 240 owners expressing their displeasure so far. Another site, CarComplaints.com, has registered over 300 complaints relating to the 2010 to 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango, alone, according to The New York Times.
Chrysler has acknowledged that it's investigating the complaints and is analyzing the faulty TIPMs, but that isn't quite enough for customers of the affected vehicles. The newspaper has snagged a few of the more harrowing tales with the electrically challenged Chrysler products, culled from the NHTSA complaints.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

Roadkill pits every project car against each other

Sat, 22 Feb 2014

The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
