1972 Datsun 240z Original Owner California Car, A/c, Mostly Original Paint #110 on 2040-cars

Year:1972 Mileage:129400
Location:

Sacramento, California, United States

Sacramento, California, United States

I purchased this car from the original female owner who bought the car new on May 1, 1972 from San Jose Datsun.  I have the original San Jose Datsun New Car Guarantee Certificate, Warranty and Service Book, Hitachi Radio Guide, Datsun Air Conditioning Manual, Datsun 240Z Owners Manual, and Dealer Additional Equipment Sticker. I also have the Original Window Sticker and a copy of the Original Owner Title. The vehicle is currently registered and in my name per California DMV rules.

Mostly original #110 paint on the car with a few areas of re-paint. The rear hatch was dented in a parking lot mishap back in the 1980's.  The body shop used a lacquer paint back in the day which is now checking.  There was no damage to the taillight panel. This car has a white interior that is in excellent condition for age.

The dash is in good shape with two small cracks. All gauges working ( temp guage works intermittently) as well as electric antenna.

This car still has the original Koito headlights installed.

The headliner is in very good shape as are the door panels. Windows roll up and down.

Air Conditioning is all present but needs compressor re-installed and some R12 added.

The car was parked by the original owner in 2008 and was towed to a shop where it underwent a clean up and mechanical check.  The master brake cylinder was replaced along with the front brake calipers and pads.  The rear brake cylinders were also replaced along with brake shoes.  We replaced the battery and completed a tune up and oil change.

This Z car had been on a California DMV non-op since 2008 and is now currently registered, insured and in my name.  I currently have two other Z cars with performance goodies installed on them. This car is much too original and nice to change in any way therefore I am selling it to someone who will appreciate it for the beautiful original survivor that it is.

Feel free to visit my photo bucket page and look through 150 pictures of this car. There are 96 pictures in the album and on the last page there is a link to a sub-album with an additional 54 pictures.

This Z car is about as rust free as any Z car that has not been on a rotisserie.  The paint is good for a 40 year old car but it does have the usual scratches and minor dings along the sides and nose.

This is a great example of an early Z car and it will sell with no reserve and at a very low starting price. There is NO buy it now price. I have tried to describe this car in such a way that the buyer will receive a car that is in better condition than described.

Car is sold as is - where is. No warranties expressed or implied.

Yes, after full payment is received, I can store the car for a few weeks for transportation or overseas delivery.  I have sold several cars to overseas buyers and am comfortable doing so.

Contact me prior to bidding if you have little or no E-Bay feedback.  If not your bid will probably be ignored and cancelled.

Please contact me with any questions or to set up a viewing of the car. Mike 916-764-9759.

Datsun expands low-cost revival with new Mi-Do in Moscow [w/video]

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

Those who were disappointed when Datsun changed its name to Nissan over three decades ago may have been pleased to see the marque revived last year, even as a budget brand. Nissan's counterpart to its ally Renault's Dacia budget brand, Datsun has been steadily expanding its lineup of low-cost transportation for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback in India, the Go+ minivan in Indonesia and the On-Do sedan in Russia. And now it has returned to Moscow to reveal its fourth model, the Mi-Do.
Based closely on the On-Do sedan (which itself is based on the Lada Granta) the Mi-Do takes on a five-door hatchback bodystyle but with no more frills. It uses the same front-drive chassis with the same wheelbase as the sedan, but its chopped tail makes it a good foot and a half shorter overall. Into that compact shape, Datsun has fitted dual airbags, ABS and... well, that's about it. It's got a 1.6-liter, eight-valve inline-four kicking out a grand total of 87 horsepower to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. Bare bones, this is.
While delivery of the first On-Do sedans commences next month (with the first example going to an IT specialist in Omsk), the Mi-Do is set to begin delivery early next year. Scope out the video and press release below from the Mi-Do's reveal at the Moscow Motor Show.

37K miles in a 1967 Datsun Roadster

Tue, 11 Mar 2014

When we think of comfy, long-distance road cars, there are a few obvious choices. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley Continental GT or, assuming fuel efficiency isn't paramount, a Range Rover are all good options for a road trip. But what if that road trip was 37,000 miles? Maybe something more reliable but still comfortable, then, like a Honda Accord. What about a 1967 Datsun Roadster?
As insane as it sounds, Scott Fisher is doing just that, running a Datsun 1600 Roadster across North America and racking up 13,500 miles in his first three months on the road. His total journey will see him pile over 37,000 miles on his red convertible. The car is lightly modified, but most of the work is for the sake of reliability and comfort, with a five-speed manual 'box, an upgraded radiator and electronic ignition.
Fisher's trip hasn't been all smooth, with a few typical bits of trouble. He also ran into some deer in Utah, quite literally, clipping one of the animals, which delivered quite a bit of damage to the passenger's front fender (hence the rear three-quarter view in our lead shot). Still, the car seems to be holding up well, as shown in this latest video from Petrolicious.

First new Datsun in decade sketched, set for Indian reveal

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

Nissan's Datsun nameplate revival will begin with two models bound for the Indian market. Nissan has released sketches of a five-door hatchback based on the Micra (codenamed K2) and a top-down view of a hood that could potentially be from a sedan.
The company's press release says all will be revealed on July 15 in New Delhi, India. The Datsun lineup will be first offered in 2014 to that country's ride-deprived residents as well as Indonesia and Russia. Later in 2014, South Africa will join the list.
We've heard Nissan plans for Datsuns to share platforms with company-owned Lada. In January, we heard the projected price tag could be around $3,000 USD to compete with Chinese imports. The official press release (which can be read in full below) says nothing about either of these reports, however.
