This is a beautiful 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible in which the pictures do say a thousand words.  It looks, runs, and drives as good as the pictures depict.  It is very clean inside and out and runs like new.  I do not want to be misleading and there are a few very minor dings which are typical in a 5 year old car, however; they will not show up in pictures.  There are no rips or tears in the in interior and it shows out very, very nice. The convertible top looks like new and there is no damage.  All electronics work as they should.  The air conditioning blows ice cold.  Great stereo with awesome sound.  This car does have an owner retained flood title. There is absolutely no indication that this vehicle was ever damaged.  If there was water in this vehicle, you would never know it.  There are absolutely no signs.  The car does not have any rust and is truly a beautiful, problem free car.  I drive this car daily and would not hesitate to drive it cross country.  Tires are in great condition and show better than 60% tread.  It is ready to go and I guarantee that you will be very pleased with this car.  It truly is as awesome as it looks.  It is a very sporty two-seater with an emergency back seat if needed.  I love driving it as it is very luxurios and has beautiful green-glow courtesy lights at night.  Very quiet and comfortable ride for a sports car.  I am not interested in trades or financing, so please do not ask.  I am moving out of state and do not want to take this vehicle with me.  There is no warranty with the vehicle.  It is sold As-Is, Where-Is.  Very well cared for and serviced vehicle.  It is 100% ready to drive anywhere USA.  Buy this car and save thousands!

Fiat talking with banks about buying rest of Chrysler

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

All that stands in the way of Fiat's total ownership of Chrysler is a 41.5-percent stake currently held by the United Auto Workers healthcare trust, but according to SFGate.com, Sergio Marchionne is currently trying to raise the capital to complete the acquisition. The article says that a deal could be completed in as soon as 12 months, and the estimate for the remaining stake could cost Fiat SpA around $2.98 billion.
With a goal of completing the deal by the end of 2014, Marchionne is said to be in talks with various banks to help finance some of the deal. According to the report, the banks have indicated a need for a stronger balance sheet, controlled debt and reserve cash.
Two things that don't seem to be on the table to get the deal completed include issuing new shares to raise the capital or selling a stake in Ferrari. Fiat started with a 20 percent share of Chrysler in June 2009, and it raised its stake up to 58.5 percent in January 2012.

Move over Audi, now Chrysler has a beef with Tesla's claims

Thu, 23 May 2013

In the same week that Audi said "not so fast" to some claims from Tesla, Chrysler has responded to a new press release from the California-based EV-maker by saying "not exactly, Tesla." The statement, released through the company's blog, comes in response to Tesla claiming it was "the only American car company to have fully repaid the government." Chrysler notes that it, too, recently paid back Uncle Sam from its 2008 bailout. Similar to Audi's recent press release, which was eventually and mysteriously deleted from the German automaker's site, Chrysler is both right and wrong in its statement.
Tesla specifically said that it had paid back the Department of Energy loans that many automakers received - including Fisker and VPG Autos - while Chrysler's retort argues Tesla is "unmistakably incorrect" since it repaid the government in 2011 a full six years early. Technically, the statements from both automakers are correct, but Tesla's startup loan originated from the DoE, while Chrysler's loan came in bailout form from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). Further, as The Detroit News notes, Chrysler's loan still cost taxpayers well over a billion dollars after all was said and done - those negative assets tied to "old Chrysler" in the bankruptcy did not require repayment.

Google's new Android Autos OS unveiled, will be in cars this year [w/video]

Wed, 25 Jun 2014

Connected cars are coming en-masse. We know this much. How, though, remains something of an open question, especially as two of the world's largest tech companies are preparing to battle for control of your car's dashboard. On the one hand, we have Apple and its CarPlay system. And now, we know what Google has been working on with Auto Link.
Its new name is Android Auto, and yes, it's based off the Android architecture that is the primary challenger to Apple's iOS mobile operating system. Announced at Google's I/O conference today, Android Auto functions similarly to CarPlay - owners will need to plug their smartphones into their cars to access the full breadth of capability.
In Android Auto's case, that means a wealth of voice controls to limit distracted driving. Google's marquee apps will be available when the interface arrives in production models later this year, including Google Play Music, Google Maps and voice-activated texting and text playback. Meanwhile, developers will be able to begin designing custom apps for the new system via an upcoming software development kit.
