1990 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue Sedan 4-door 3.3l on 2040-cars
Huntington Woods, Michigan, United States
You're looking at a 1990 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue, in great condition for its age. The car has 133,612 miles at the time of this posting and had the transmission replaced at 75,000 miles. Included in the asking price are four infiniti speakers; the radio is not included. You'll see that the interior on this gorgeous New Yorker Fifth Avenue is impeccable. Just take a look at the backseats.
This Michigan car has developed some rust during the years and there are a few dents, but the paint job still glistens like new with a good car wash. The coolant tank leaks, but I have never, not once, had a problem with the car overheating. I believe the problem is isolated to just the tank, not any of the lines. The A/C no longer works and the passenger side rear window no longer goes up and down, but the valve covers, CV shafts, water pump and gas pump have all been replaced on this car. The engine fan must be operated manually, with a switch that has been installed adjacent to the steering wheel. Please see the included picture. Also, the tires on this car were just replaced in November. Throughout the winter, it was only driven on the weekend, so these tires are pretty much brand new. Much like the Chryslers of the famed "Imported from Detroit" advertisements, this New Yorker Fifth Avenue is from a time when Chrysler was fighting to compete with the high-end, and more expensive, luxury cruisers from Cadillac and Lincoln. For just 1500 bucks, be proud to park this beautiful car in your driveway. Feel free to contact me at 248-770-0160 to arrange for a viewing of the vehicle or email through Ebay with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you. If interested, give me an offer. I am willing to ship the vehicle at owner's expense. |

Chrysler and Google launch virtual 200 factory tour [w/video]
Tue, 23 Sep 2014Google is no stranger to showing off some of the most interesting automotive destinations in the world, like the museums for Lamborghini and Ducati, or even a Tesla showroom. However, it's taking that technology even further with a new, in-depth look of the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant where the Chrysler 200 is made. Unlike these earlier online excursions, the new Chrysler factory tour is a fully guided experience that includes several 360-degree videos explaining many parts of the production process.
"Just as we pioneered a completely new Chrysler 200, we are pioneering a new way for consumers to research a vehicle. The Factory Tour is an opportunity for us to prove to consumers that the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 is not one ever built before," said Olivier Francois, Chrysler's chief marketing officer, in the company's release.
Chrysler was already pretty proud of its nearly $1 billion in recent updates to the Sterling Heights factory having released a look at the 200's assembly process earlier this year. However, the new Google tour goes far deeper by including 12 videos, and between highlighted stops, viewers can swing the camera all over to get a full view of the action. The whole thing is an intriguing way to show the way a modern car gets built.
Chrysler Q3 profits surge to $611M but per-unit profits trouble
Thu, 06 Nov 2014Chrysler Group has announced its third-quarter financial results a little later than its crosstown rivals at General Motors and Ford, but the company has reason to celebrate thanks to strong numbers across the board.
The biggest attention-grabber from the automaker is that its net income was up 32 percent in the third quarter to $611 million, compared to $464 million over the same period last year. Modified operating profit was also strong at $946 million - a 10 percent gain. Furthermore, net revenue grew as well to $20.7 billion - 18 percent higher Q3 2013.
Growing sales pushed the strong financials. Chrysler Group sold about 711,000 vehicles worldwide for the quarter, up 18 percent from a year ago. Things looked especially good in the US, where its market share grew to 12.3 percent, versus 11.2 percent in Q3 2013.
Fiat Chrysler posts $690M Q1 loss
Mon, 12 May 2014If there is one thing that should be remembered when looking at quarterly and annual earnings, it's that the headline numbers rarely tell the whole story when it comes to an automaker's health. Chrysler's first-quarter earnings are just such an example.
Yes, the Auburn Hills-based manufacturer lost $690 million, which is quite a large sum of money. The reasons for the loss, according to Chrysler, were "Unfavorable infrequent items," which includes a $504 million payment to rid itself of the debts it took on for prepaying the UAW's VEBA healthcare trust. Chrysler was also hit with a $672 million charge to the UAW, which was part of a deal that allowed Fiat to purchase the remaining shares of Chrysler owned by the VEBA.
Ignoring those one-time deals, the first quarter was quite a successful one for Chrysler. It would have made $486 million if you erased the merger costs, which would have been a year-over-year increase of $320 million. Even more promising is the fact that Chrysler snagged the largest increase in market share of any automaker during Q1 at 1.1 percent, bringing its overall share to 12.7 percent of the US market. Chrysler saw a 30-percent improvement in sales of trucks and SUVs, along with an 11-percent increase in year-over-year sales and a 23-percent increase in revenue, to $19 billion.
