This is a beautiful, low mileage, very good original condition, turbo LeBaron Town & Country woody station wagon, with the Mark Cross leather interior!  This car looks, runs, and drives great while coddling the driver and passengers in plush comfort.  And it is quick yet economical and fun to drive with the 2.2 liter Chrysler turbo engine.

This LeBaron has the wood trim package, the Mark Cross leather interior package, the turbo engine, automatic transmission, AM/FM radio, cargo cover, rear window wiper, tilt wheel, and power windows, power drivers' seat, power locks, power steering, and power brakes.  All of these features work great.  The air conditioning comes on but I have not used it and it is likely low on coolant, as the switch cycles.  The turbo gives quick acceleration, and the car runs, drives, shifts, and stops great, with no known problems or repair needs.  There may be a slow battery draw, I disconnect the battery when the car is sitting for a period.  The tires are about one year old and have less than 1000 miles on them!

The body is rust free, and appears to have no body repairs.  The paint appears to be all original and is in good shape, but could use a good polishing to bring back a better shine.  The wood is excellent, with very few chips or scratches, the largest being on the drivers' door (see photo) and some discoloration on the framing, primarily on the rear hatch.  Even the rocker panels are clean!  There is a minor small bump on the hood, with no broken paint, and which is barely noticeable unless you look at it in just the right light and at the right angle.  The wire wheel covers are in very good condition, with minor scuffing.

The beautiful and comfortable Mark Cross leather interior is really incredible!  The leather is in great condition, including the embossed Mark Cross emblems on the front and rear seat backs.  The dash pad has no cracks, and the headliner is not sagging, and the carpet looks great and is not worn.  The ash tray has a broken corner (see photo) but I will include a replacement ash tray.  Some of the satin silver trim surfaces show aging, but are a very minor and repairable appearance item that could be easily addressed.  The cargo area carpet, trim, and stainless ribs are all in very good shape, and the spare and jack are like new!

Overall this beautiful LeBaron Town & Country looks great in its original Cream Crystal Coat paint and light/medium tan Mark Cross leather interior, probably the best color combination for this car!  The Chrysler turbo motor is dependable, economical, easy to service, and is quick and fun to drive.  It is an affordable, practical, stylish, luxurious, and very 80s classic!

I have clear title in my name.  The car is garaged, and can stay garaged temporarily while you arrange to pick up or transport the car.  I will release the car after payment in full funds have cleared.

I have described this LeBaron as best I can; it is sold as is, where is.  Please ask any questions before you bid.

Chrysler recalling hundreds of thousands of Jeep Grand Cherokee and Commander SUVs

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

The public might associated ignition switch recalls with General Motors - and with good cause - but that's not the only automaker calling its vehicles back in to fix that sort of issue.
Last month we reported that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration was investigating an array of Chrysler Group vehicles for electrical-related safety issues. The administration and Chrysler subsequently issued a recall for 700,000 Dodge Journey crossovers, Dodge Grand Caravan minivans and Chrysler Town & Country minivans. But while the Jeeps that were also under investigation were not covered in that recall, they are being addressed in a separate one now.
Although Chrysler reports that it is only aware of a single accident stemming from this issue, it is "committing now to conduct a recall out of an abundance of caution." The recall affects the 2006-2007 Jeep Commander and 2005-2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, of which it reports there are 792,300 on the road: 649,900 in the United States, 28,800 in Canada, 12,800 in Mexico and a further 100,800 outside of North America.

Chrysler 300C John Varvatos Limited Edition returns for 2014 with AWD option

Thu, 30 Jan 2014

Before last year, many of us car guys had no idea who John Varvatos was. That all changed when the Detroit-native fashion designer lent his talents to the Chrysler 300 to create the snazzy, special-edition 300C John Varvatos models. The fashionable sedan returns for 2014 with two versions (Luxury and Limited), and the only big news here is that the latter model will be getting an optional all-wheel-drive system.
Distinguishing the Luxury and Limited models, the Luxury comes with Platinum exterior accents and is offered in a handful of colors while the Limited gets darker Titanium accents and only comes with a Phantom Black Tri-Coat paint job. Both cars get an exclusive interior design with special leathers, patterns and colors worthy of the designer's name and logo. The JV Edition is the only 300C to offer a V6 engine, but V8 lovers can still opt up for the powerful Hemi engine.
It would appear that the Luxury Edition is already on sale, but you'll have to wait until March for the 2014 JV Limited Edition, which, according to a Chrysler spokesperson, will be "limited from a production timing standpoint." The JV Luxury Edition starts at $41,195 and the Limited Edition will have a starting price of $44,480 (*not including $995 for destination) - both cars can be optioned with all-wheel drive for $2,500. Scroll down for the press release on the 300C John Varvatos Limited Edition.

Marchionne: Midsize pickup still not in the cards; Ram 1500, Jeep Wrangler could use aluminum

Wed, 07 May 2014

During the Fiat-Chrysler briefings on Tuesday, Reid Bigland, head of Ram Trucks, outlined the new product plans for his brand, including confirmation that an all-new light-duty Ram 1500 will launch in 2017. From there, discussions spun off in two directions, with the main questions being: will Ram build a midsize pickup? And, following Ford's move to extensively use aluminum in its new 2015 F-150, will Chrysler be using this weight-saving material for the next round of its fullsize truck, as well?
"I think there is room for a Ram 1000," Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne (pictured above) told members of the media, saying this is a conversation the automaker has been having internally for several years now. "We've tried this ... we've actually taken it to clinics," Marchionne stated, adding that the "response has been lukewarm."
"I have better use of aluminum in this house than a pickup truck." - Sergio Marchionne
