I AM SELLING THIS RARE 1983 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL (1427 MADE) FOR A NEIGHBOR OF MINE THAT DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS TO A COMPUTER. THIS CAR WAS BACKED INTO AND HIT ON THE RIGHT FRONT FENDER, (FENDER WAS DENTED BADLY) AND REMOVED FROM CAR. THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING UNDER CARPORT FOR ABOUT A YEAR. THE BATTERY WAS CHARGED AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP AND RAN GREAT (GREAT RUNNING 318 C.I. CARBURATED ENGINE) TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTING GOOD WHEN ACCIDENT OCCURED. I DON'T THINK IT DID ANY DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION. THE INTERIOR IS NICE DARK BLUE WITH LEATHER POWER SEATS. AM/FM RADIO PLAYS GOOD. CASSETTE TAPE PLAYER WORKS. THE CAR WILL MOVE FORWARD AND BACK WARD AND STEER TO THE RIGHT, BUT WILL NOT STEER TO THE LEFT. (I THINK THE TIE ROD IS BENT) INTERIOR IS VERY NICE, SEATS ARE SOFT AND NOT TORN, BOTH DOOR PANELS ARE VERY NICE, AS IS DASH BOARD, NO CRACKS OR BROKEN PLASTIC. CAR HAS ORIGINAL 66,000 MILES. EXTEROR OF CAR HAS FADED AND HAS A FEW RUST SPOTS, MOSTLY SURFACE AND WILL NEED ATTENTION. THIS WOULD BE A GOOD PROJECT CAR OR A GREAT PARTS CAR. I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OF THESE LISTED ON EBAY FOR SALE. Ferrari to be spun off from Fiat Chrysler
Wed, 29 Oct 2014The recently merged Fiat Chrysler Automobiles empire has ambitious plans for growth, and it's going to need some big bucks in its coffers in order to enact them. Part of that cash injection is coming from the floating of its IPO on the New York Stock Exchange, but now FCA has announced a further capital campaign to be based on the enormous asset that is Ferrari.
FCA's board of directors has just approved the separation of Ferrari from the rest of the group as a separate entity. Once that separation is complete, Ferrari will put 10 percent of its shares on the stock market "in the United States and possibly a European exchange" as well.
This isn't the first time that the idea of a Ferrari IPO has been raised. Sergio Marchionne, chief executive of Chrysler, Fiat and Ferrari (pictured above), first raised the idea four years ago. Former Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo nixed the idea, but now that he's been discharged, it appears there's nothing to get in the way of Marchionne's desires.
Volkswagen Routan dead one last time
Wed, 25 Sep 2013Volkswagen halted production of the Routan minivan in late 2012 due to low sales volume, but there were reports swirling around that it would live on and continue production alongside the closely related Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan. But now VW says that it will indeed stop Routan production for good, The Detroit Bureau reports.
As of our report in March, VW hadn't built a single Routan in 2013, and we can't imagine things have gotten much better for the minivan since then. The Detroit Bureau reports that VW produced some 2014 Routans, but they aren't for sale to the public - they are fleet-only affairs.
VW originally intended to sell between 45,000 and 50,000 Routans per year, but since it was introduced for the 2009 model year, annual sales of the minivan have averaged only 11,500 units. VW has sold 57,683 Routans total.
2014 Chrysler 200 to set design tone for brand
Sun, 20 Jan 2013Speaking with Wards Auto at this year's Detroit Auto Show, Chrysler design chief Ralph Gilles said that the next-generation Chrysler 200 will launch a whole new styling direction for the brand when it arrives for the 2014 model year. Gilles did not reveal any specific design cues or elements that will be found on the next 200, only saying that the new car "shares no surface language with any previous Chrysler we've ever seen."
Indeed, the current 200 isn't exactly setting the world on fire with any sort of clever, emotive design, but Gilles knows that. "The current Chryslers on the road today certainly don't reflect where we're headed," he told Wards Auto. Instead, Gilles said that "we are deviating from where we are today, completely. It's a very different feeling (and) look."
The launch of the new Chrysler 200 will officially mean the death of its Dodge Avenger counterpart, though Gilles says that the company is working on an all-new product to replace that vehicle down the road. Still, Chrysler will need a successful player in the popular midsize segment, and Gilles fully expects the new 200 to be up to the task. "I think it's going to be a beautiful and relevant vehicle."
