Offering for sale my black SRT-6 hardtop coupe. 42,245 miles (as of January 1, 2014).

It is not my daily driver (DD) so it gets a lot of babying (it gets washed more than it gets driven these days). It gets the cushy spot in my garage to keep it out of the elements.

Located just outside of Washington DC in northern Virginia.

Asking $16,999 OBO.

This is a 400hp car. Minor modifications that do not impact the longevity of the vehicle or its components have easily turned the original 330hp/310lb-ft torque into roughly 400 hp/465lb-ft torque (approx). Modifications include a Eurocharged Performance ECU tune and TCU tune, a Needswings Single CAI, and a Sprintbooster all of which are removable reducing the horsepower down to the stock 330hp.

This is also a safe car. Front and side air bags driver and passenger for one. When Chrysler and Mercedes engineers designed it based upon the R170 Mercedes SLK platform they made the body roughly 30% more rigid. In a crash test this car was given 5 stars by NHTSA. On top of that, it can out maneuver anything else on the road and stop on a dime.

The car is in great shape for a 2005. I can provide you a scan of the CarFax upon request as of the time I purchased it in late 2011. I am the third owner and have only driven it 7,500 miles during my ownership.

I have all of my receipts and records since ownership, including proof of 0w-40 Mobil1 oil changes. Replaced IC Pump around 38K miles with the stock Bosch component.

I am not in a bind, not forced to sell, this is completely voluntary so I am going to take a no pressure approach to selling this and expect interested parties to do the same.

The reason for selling is that I just got into law school and plan to purchase another vehicle for commuting.

2014 Chrysler 200 to set design tone for brand

Sun, 20 Jan 2013

Speaking with Wards Auto at this year's Detroit Auto Show, Chrysler design chief Ralph Gilles said that the next-generation Chrysler 200 will launch a whole new styling direction for the brand when it arrives for the 2014 model year. Gilles did not reveal any specific design cues or elements that will be found on the next 200, only saying that the new car "shares no surface language with any previous Chrysler we've ever seen."
Indeed, the current 200 isn't exactly setting the world on fire with any sort of clever, emotive design, but Gilles knows that. "The current Chryslers on the road today certainly don't reflect where we're headed," he told Wards Auto. Instead, Gilles said that "we are deviating from where we are today, completely. It's a very different feeling (and) look."
The launch of the new Chrysler 200 will officially mean the death of its Dodge Avenger counterpart, though Gilles says that the company is working on an all-new product to replace that vehicle down the road. Still, Chrysler will need a successful player in the popular midsize segment, and Gilles fully expects the new 200 to be up to the task. "I think it's going to be a beautiful and relevant vehicle."

FB Tuning debuts 400-hp carbon-bodied Chrysler Crossfire in Monaco

Wed, 30 Apr 2014

The Chrysler Crossfire was, suffice it to say, a matter of taste. Based on old Mercedes-Benz mechanicals, it included retro styling accents and an armadillo roofline. Some loved it, but there was clearly room for improvement - not to mention more sales - and that's just what Italian coachbuilder FB Tuning had to showcase at the Top Marques show in Monaco this year.
Called the FB-ONE, it's based on the Crossfire, which itself was based on the same R170 chassis as the first-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK. It packs the same 3.2-liter V6 as well, which FB claims to have tuned farther than anything Daimler-Chrysler ever managed with the same engine. Whereas the SLK32 AMG packed 354 horsepower and the Crossfire SRT-6 offered 330, the FB-One packs a nice, round 400 hp, which ought to be good for a 0-60 time of little over four seconds.
As you can see, that's not all they've done with FB-One. It's also been rebodied in carbon fiber, with gold accents, deep-dish alloys that look like they came out of a casino and the headlights from an Audi A8. Whether the result is your cup of tea likely depends, as it did with the Crossfire in the first place, on your own personal tastes, so check it out for yourself in the video below.

2015 Chrysler 200 production gets underway [w/videos]

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

Chrysler announced recently that it has added some 800 new jobs at its Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) to support the production of its all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 sedan. Total employment at the Sterling Heights, MI plant grows to almost 2,800 with the hires, an impressive figure for a plant that was slated for closure in 2010.
Speaking to a crowd of employees and community leaders, Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne was on hand to celebrate the kick-off of 200 production last week. "We're making a big bet on its success," said Marchionne of the sedan, "we've invested nearly a billion dollars in this facility."
That billion-dollar bill has been used to construct a spanking new paint shop, install a new body shop and install "machinery, tooling and material-handling equipment" according to the Chrysler press release. The company says that SHAP now runs to nearly five million square feet of manufacturing space - loads of room for all the new employees to do their thing - and that the facility can handle multiple vehicles on two unique architectures.
