Hello there prospective bidders, This is a 1950 Chrysler Royal with only 32141 miles; I purchased it from an adorable little old lady who had it parked in her garage since her husband died in 1968. He was the original and only owner. He really must have loved this car because he took very good care of it. I love this car also and when I started working on it I intended to keep it forever, however I also have a 1965 Impala that has been languishing on jack stands now for a few years so I've decided to pass this beauty on for someone else to enjoy. I have been through this car with a fine toothed comb and except for the door moldings which are still good I have changed everything that has rubber in it. Everything works as it should in this car including the lighter, and it is ready to drive anywhere including cross country. The Fluidmatic shifts great and is a pleasure to drive. The following is a list of things I have done to this car, I’m a mechanic not a body guy so the car still has the original paint, you can see in the pics under the car where the undercoating has fallen off that the paint is still shiny. She is unmolested and like a time capsule. I adapted the rims for new heavy duty Hankook tubeless tires. NOS fuel tank coated inside and out. New fuel sending unit and calibrated with gauge in dash. New fuel pump. Entire new brake system including master cylinder. Rebuilt distributor and vacuum advance. Rebuilt starter. Rebuilt generator. New plugs and wires. Repacked front and rear bearings with new seals. Rebuilt carburetor. Repacked U Joints. Removed cleaned and greased wiper motor and linkages. Changed oil, dropped oil pan and cleaned residue from the old oil. Changed transmission oil not once but 2x. Changed rear end oil same 2x. All new coolant hoses. New exhaust. Dropped cleaned filter housing and installed drain plug. Spares with the car, 2 manuals one is new. Oil pressure gauge hose. 2 headlights. New coil. 4 Hub caps. New hub puller for rear wheels. I have a color copy of the original title; I had to turn the original in for the registration. Original spare tire, tire tools and even unused green wood tire chock. I also have anything I took off the car including the old tires and brake cylinders if you should want them. This really is a great car and I hope it goes to someone who will appreciate it. You can feel safe to drive it anywhere and I have even had my 4yo daughter’s baby seat in it (I had to pull the rear seat to find suitable anchors for it). Buyers this car is in fantastic shape for being 64 y/o , like I said, I'm not a body and paint guy so if any paint came off the car I touched it up with some primer to keep it protected. You can rest assured that there is only good clean 1950's metal on this car. Please look closely at the pics and around the wheel wells, it all clean. Dodge offering novel 1-year lease on '14 Challenger and Charger models
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Dodge is just days away from unveiling refreshed versions of the Charger and Challenger at the 2014 New York Auto Show, models promising updated styling and new powertrain options. Depending on how you look at it, the company is either so confident in its forthcoming 2015 models that it's offering an interesting Double-Up lease deal on the current vehicles, or it's so eager to clear out existing stock that it's resorting to novel lease deals. In any case, what they present is an interesting scenario, one which allows buyers to get the existing model right now, and then trade up to the facelifted 2015 models in one year.
Starting April 17, when the refreshed cars debut through the end of August, buyers can lease a 2014 Charger or Challenger for one year and exchange it for a three-year lease on a 2015 model next year, with no additional money down and the same monthly payment. Customers can even switch vehicles when the new lease starts. If drivers want to buy the '15, they get $1,000 off the purchase price. To be eligible, both leases must use the same dealership and be financed through Chrysler Capital. The Double-Up deal excludes the SRT versions of both cars and Charger SE models.
To offset the flood of one-year-old models coming back to dealerships, Dodge has struck a deal with rental car agency Enterprise, which has agreed to buy them all. "One-year leases are highly unusual in the industry," said company spokesperson Ralph Kisiel, and the fleet sale deal is what makes it possible.
Chrysler 200 replacement coming in January
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Autoweek reports the next Chrysler 200 will bow early next year. CEO Sergio Marchionne has said the 2015 model will debut next January, and Chrysler plans to cut the 2014 200 model year short to make way for the model's successor. According to AW, internal documents reveal 2014 model production will start this July and run through early January, 2014. The memos don't specify whether its Dodge Avenger twin will also see a shortened model year (the latter was originally rumored for discontinuation, but a successor is apparently back on the table). Chrysler is investing some $1 billion to construct paint and body facilities at its Sterling Heights, Michigan plant for the next-generation 200.
From what we've heard so far, we can expect the 2015 200 to bring a new design language to the Chrysler brand that will eventually bleed into the automaker's other products. Early reports have also suggested the four door will boast a nine-speed automatic transmission and return up to 38 miles per gallon.
Chrysler executed a very successful facelift in 2011, turning the flailing Sebring into the newly minted 200. Buyers responded enthusiastically, with sales jumping 44 percent in 2012. That step up was enough to make the 200 the brand's best-selling car. The momentum hasn't slackened, either, with sales up 21 percent during the first two months of this year.
Dodge to resurrect Scat Pack?
Fri, 27 Sep 2013Before social media ever existed, if automotive enthusiasts wanted to be noticed or recognize other fans, they joined a car club. For Dodge muscle car lovers from 1968 through 1971, that group was known as the Scat Pack. Just like the Charger, Challenger and Dart nameplates, it looks like the Scat Pack could be getting a resurrection by Chrysler.
Automotive News is reporting that Chrysler recently renewed its trademark on the Scat Pack name, and while this is in no way a guarantee that the name will return, AN talked to Tim Kuniskis, Dodge President and CEO, who stoked the fire a little more. In the article, Kuniskis said that the name is "a very important part of our history" and added that "we like the whole idea of having a Scat Pack of cars." Scat Pack models were identified by their bumblebee stripes and helmet-wearing bumblebee logo, and the idea of a modern Scat Pack doesn't seem all that outlandish in light of recent vehicles like the Charger SRT Super Bee and the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee Concept.
