Handicapped Conversion Van With Ramp on 2040-cars

US $10,000.00
Year:2000 Mileage:72508
Location:

Olathe, Colorado, United States

Olathe, Colorado, United States

This van was purchased second hand in 2011 by my friend.  Recently the need for a handicapped vehicle became unnecessary.  All the money made from this purchase will be given to charity.  The point is that a reasonable offer may be accepted.
The photos tell all.  One photo shows the handicapped conversions done in Florida.  The entire floor was lowered 10 inches and it has "kneel"which lowers the entire vehicle in order to ease a wheel chair up a ramp into the space normally used for the middle seats.  The passenger side front seat is gone.  The drivers seat is removable (to accommodate someone's wheel chair.  It does not have hand controls for applying brakes but they could be added.  The EZ lock system could be moved over to the driver area.  This is mentioned because the vehicle set up  for a handicapped passenger but  is adjustable for a handcapped driver.
There are ramp switch locations in the front and the back.  There are buzzers to insure the chair lock down and for backing up.  There are two sliding doors for easy access.  The upholstery is in excellent shape.  There is a charger system under the rear seat for charging a wheel chair.  An AC mod puts AC in the rear (heater also).  The remote just locks the doors and does not lower the ramp.  (This would be important for a handicapped driver).
With the exception of a crack in the running board (photo) the paint is in excellent shape.  One photo shows the front hood.
The van has heavy duty suspension, oil cooler (tranny), a heavy duty radiator and wiring harness for a trailer tow.  The roof rack is in excellent shape.  I stood on the ramp to show its strength, at least at 200 + lbs.
New this vehicle was over $50K.  We are going to ask $10K and no auction.  Make an offer.  I think this is the only ramp van in the the Western US.  I am ready to deliver if necessary.  I can't do it for free so make an offer for that also.

Chrysler fires protest organizer at MI assembly plant

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

Chrysler has reportedly fired a Warren Stamping Plant worker for what the company is calling a violation of its code of conduct. Alex Wassell (left), a 20-year veteran with the automaker, was suspended without pay after he was quoted in an article in The Detroit News. The 63-year-old welder repairman helped organize a demonstration against a new work schedule and was protesting outside the Michigan plant on February 28 when he was interviewed. Chrysler then fired Wassell when the paper published his comments. Wassell, has since filed a grievance and says that he's looking for an amicable settlement between his union and his former employer.
Meanwhile, multiple civil liberties groups have spoken out against Chrysler's decision to dismiss Wassell. Both the National Lawyer's Guild and the American Civil Liberties Union have released statements on the situation, with the ACLU saying "Employees have a right to air their grievances, even if that means a public demonstration or a comments to the media."
According to The Detroit News, Chrysler spokesperson Jodi Tinson said that Wassell was fired for "engaging in activity constituting or appearing to constitute a conflict with the interest of the company."

Preserving automotive history costs big bucks

$1.8 million is spent each year to maintain GM's fleet of 600 production and concept cars.
When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs - outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings - was why each company maintained huge archives of old production and concept vehicles. GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.

Chrysler investigating complaints of vehicles with faulty power modules

Sun, 24 Aug 2014

Chrysler owners are hopping mad after experiencing a series of electrical gremlins in some of the company's vehicles. Issues range from mere annoyances - windows rolling down and radios turning off of their own accord - to serious safety issues, with headlights that randomly shut off at night and cars that stall and refuse to start.
The issues are being blamed on the total integrated power module, which can cost up to $1,000 for customers to replace. This, of course, has led to a hefty batch of complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, with 240 owners expressing their displeasure so far. Another site, CarComplaints.com, has registered over 300 complaints relating to the 2010 to 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango, alone, according to The New York Times.
Chrysler has acknowledged that it's investigating the complaints and is analyzing the faulty TIPMs, but that isn't quite enough for customers of the affected vehicles. The newspaper has snagged a few of the more harrowing tales with the electrically challenged Chrysler products, culled from the NHTSA complaints.
