This is a 2005 Chevy Uplander. The 6 cyl.engine runs great. The transmission doesn't work except in reverse. My sister owned this vehicle and had contract to drive special needs children to school. Thats all it was used for. I bought the vehicle and used for a few months. Sometimes you need to tap gas when starting, was told it may be a sensor. The engine always started and ran great. due to school contract the oil was changed every 3000 miles. I was going to change stabilizer links, my friend cut the old ones with a torch to get them out. I went to move the van and it would not move while it was in drive or 2nd. 1st slips and barley moves. Reverse works fine. Dont know why trans was fine when I pulled in and parked and started it up and had the problem. Never finished getting old links out. New links will come with van unless your parting it out. If you fixed or replaced the transmission it would be a good vehicle. It rode very good and drove very good. Slight sway due to links. Air cond didnt work good. Rear wiper doesnt work. It was pretty much loaded along with dvd players. Behind the wheels the paint had come off and I just sprayed a silver to help slow any rust down (behind all 4 tires, not all shown in pictures but worst spots are shown). All was solid except for one spot that started to get soft. Underneath is not rotted out. Currently has Pa inspection. Slight dent above rear hatch due to tree branch falling, touched with silver, see pic. Interior dash/plastics are in great shape. seats have stains from kids etc spilling things, never tried to clean yet. They may come out. Most dirt/stains on floor are on mats. Rear cargo carpet needs cleaning as well. I am leaving Jan 31st for two weeks. Transaction must be before or after that. May be able to come back for a day to complete transaction during two weeks but not guaranteed. Pick up only, no deliveries.  Full Van pictures shows dirt from road/slush on bottom of doors etc.

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.

Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*

Fri, 26 Apr 2013

After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).
