EXTRA CLEAN and EXCEPTIONALLY MAINTAINED Maintenance records, original manuals, only use synthetic oils and always maintained with special care. Also, had Pro Series Cat Back exhaust and chrome tip purchased/installed at 4 Wheel Parts on 9/2012 with 110,496 miles at a cost of $641.37. Recent tune up and general upkeep (new battery, serviced transmission & radiator, recharged a/c, adjust head lights, new fuel pump installed, oil cooler gasket replaced, new platinum spark plugs and new knock sensor installed). This SUV was purchased from my friend's Father that is a Texas State Judge and drove back and forth from Austin to Houston and to their Summer house in Maine (highway miles), so I'm the second owner and only selling due to health issue and no longer can afford a second vehcile. Never towed anything other than a small trash trailer; however, I got electric breaks installed when I was looking at buying a small travel trailer to tow (but never did) and I will be having it removed before delivery, so I will require a couple of days to have service shop remove this before you arrange pickup. On 5/2012 with 108,732 miles I also purchased an extended vehicle protection plan Powertrain Choice (coverage option) 60 month/100,000 term of contract and $100.00 deductible through Carchex (Carchex.com or 877-CARCHEX)/The TechChoice for $2,438.00, which is transferable for $50.00 but not included in this auction. Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own
Tue, 22 Jan 2013It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.
General Motors shaking up its marketing... again
Wed, 13 Mar 2013One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")
NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
