Dubuque, Iowa, United States

Listing is for a Beautiful piece of Chevy history. This 1989 Chevy Suburban is in near mint condition. I purchased this truck from the original owner. It came from Omaha Nebraska and was owned by a church pastor. At the time he purchased this vehicle he had a Van conversion package added. Also had a CB radio, Alarm system, Upgraded stereo system, Radar detector. This truck has it all. Towing package, Tinted windows, New tires, 4x4, all the options available for this truck have been added.

Although this truck is 4x4, I seriously doubt he used it much. I used it this past winter and everything worked as it should. Overall condition inside and out is Excellent! A little surface rust on under carriage but nothing serious. Truck is ready to travel across the country. Everything that needed fixed has been done. New brakes, New power steering pump and lines, New throttle body sensor, Oil change and tune up.

There is Small amount of damage to truck. Small tear in carpet by drivers door. Drivers seat leans left, but is still Very comfortable. The front bumper has paint scuffs and bends down a little. Small crease in Rt. Fender.

All this truck needs is a new owner who is looking for a classic piece of Chevy history. This truck would make a perfect vehicle to pull your Camper, Boat, ATV's or anything else. I have included several pictures. I can send extras if you provide an E-mail. PLEASE ask any question prior to purchase or making an offer! Truck is located in Dubuque, Iowa. Prefer local pick-up but I will help with any shipping arrangments the best I can. Thanks for looking.

Wanted to add one thing. I would be interested in using my vehicle as trade. I would be interested in Chevy 4x4 Truck of same quality as mine! Any year is fine. Let me know what you have and maybe we can work something out. NO FORDS!!!!!

Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.

Watch NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon put one over on a used car dealer... sorta

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Full Disclosure: in my younger days, I loved nothing more than tormenting passengers with my behind-the-wheel hijinks. Once, after a particularly artful handbrake turn on a two-lane at around 50 miles per hour, I left one backseat occupant crying in their own lap. This isn't necessarily something to be proud of, but it gives you a glimpse into why it is that I find this ad from Pepsi so damn disappointing. The premise is beautiful. Take NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, give him a disguise and set him loose upon some unsuspecting used car dealer. Hilarity ensues.
Except that this Pepsi Max commercial is so obviously staged, it can't help but feel like some ham-fisted marketing fail. From the strategically placed aftermarket cupholder mounted mid-dash for the hidden camera to the fact that the supposed dealer Camaro is displayed as a 2009 model (Hint: Chevrolet didn't make any), this clip is about as organic as a Twinkie. Still, we would never turn down a chance to watch Gordon thrash on a rental-spec coupe - only problem is, he probably didn't even do the driving himself. Check it out below.

Was the C7 Corvette cut from Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime show?

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Someone was bound to receive a free 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray during the Super Bowl XLVII festivities; it just wasn't who we thought it was going to be. Despite a report back in December that superstar Beyoncé Knowles would be getting an all-new Corvette during her halftime performance, that turned out not to be the case. Joe Flacco, starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, did in fact win a Corvette for his MVP performance.
So what transpired that prevented Beyoncé from rolling on stage in the new Chevrolet? Anyone who knows isn't telling, but according to Yahoo! Autos, General Motors said that for one reason or another a deal "did not work out," and it appears to have been an eleventh-hour change. Regardless of who's to blame or what prevented this from happening, we're sure Chevy has had no problems getting attention for the C7 Corvette since it was introduced last month.
