Up for sale is a 1998 Chevy 3500 crew cab long box with the 6.5L Detroit diesel in it. It has cloth interior with no rips in the seats. Sliding rear window and a sunroof. The sunroof does not leak any water but is currently not working. Has a spray in bed liner. 3in lift/leveling kit. Two brand new 1050cca batteries. The motor was redone at 217,000 miles. New torque converter and transmission 1,000 miles ago. New brakes on all four tires. Two tires need to be replaced but the truck will come with two to replace them. All new U-joints, front CV axle, hanger bearing, steering idler arms. It has a class V receiver hitch on it. Also have a set of stainless steel nerf bars not pictured that go with it as well. Overall its a very clean truck with minor scratches and very little rust. I reserve the right to end the auction early as I have the truck for sale locally as well. I require a $500 non refundable down payment within 24hrs of the end of the auction and the remaining balance within three days in cash. I can not ship this so it must be picked up in person. GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future

The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
