UP FOR AUCTION...

2004 Chevy Silverado Z71.

Great vehicle, nice shape, could be driven anywhere, as is.

I am listing vehicle as a re-buildable, for the sole purpose of covering my butt on any false expectations...

The truck is solid, and could be driven, and used as it sits.
I have owned the truck for one year now, and it has been a great truck, but I needed something a little heavier duty.  The truck is mechanically sound, all options work great, and I hate to see it go, but I had to upgrade. It has a new battery, alternator, and brakes all around.  The truck has NO MECHANICAL ISSUES!!! I would drive it anywhere.  ALL OPTIONS WORK PERFECTLY!!!

As for the rebuildable listing...

The truck has been used to work with while I owned it, and it has some dents, dings, and scratches on it.  It has a little bit of surface rust on the rocker panels, and cab corners, and has the classic GM, "peeling clearcoat" on the hood and roof.  I never abused the truck, nor towed anything with it.  It has never been used to plow, or anything else that would be hard on it.  All of the panels are useable, and nothing really needs replaced.   It could use some body work, and some fresh paint.  This would make a great project truck for someone wanting to get into a newer 4x4, for a reasonable price... If someone wanted to buy it, and use it as it is, that could be done as well.   It has a plastic bed liner in it. Tires are probably a little bit below half life, approx 1/4 tread life left.

Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.

Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
