I have owned this truck for about 5 years. This truck is extremely slick, with the only real damage being a small dent, about the size of a golf ball, below the passenger's side brake light, which I have photographed. there is some paint bubble and surface rust near the rear of the wheel wells, but it is not soft or rusted through. Again, bodywise, this truck is as straight as you'll find anywhere. The Interior isn't bad, with a newer seat covering, and newer carpet. The seat has one small tear on the driver's side, pictured. The door panels could use some fresh paint. The dash is cracked, but solid. A good cover would do wonders for the dash. I put a JVC Tape deck in the truck, and the dash hasn't been cut at all for a CD player, so you can put an original radio in it if you'd like. Mechanically, the 4 wheel drive works great. The engine smokes a little bit on initial startup. Being a 305, it is weak. It also uses a little oil. The transmission seems good. It feels like it could use a fluid service, and change of filter, because when it's cold, it will sometimes shift funny, but when it warms, it shifts perfectly. I just put new dual exhaust on it about a year ago. Tires are good. The AC has a leak. It works when it's charged, but leaks off. I replaced the water pump and the fan clutch a couple of years ago. The only other thing that needs attention is the steering sector needs repair. The steering turns sharper to the right than it does the left. I had it looked at, and they said that the worm gears were worn in the steering sector, and could used replaced. The steering column is also loose. I don't know if it can be tightened, or needs replaced. There is also a crack in the front windshield. The auto door locks sometimes stick in the locked position, so I don't lock the doors. It may be that it just needs lithium grease to cure the problem, but I have just never bothered with removing the panels to try it. One side of the tailgate latch came undone in the handle, so you have to release one side with a screwdriver. This is also an easy fix, I just haven't bothered with it. The truck needs a few little things, but all in all, it is a great looking vehicle. I am pricing the vehicle fairly, so that you can buy it, and fix it, and have a great truck for not much money. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.
Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme
Mon, 17 Dec 2012They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.
Final C6 Corvette built in Bowling Green
Fri, 01 Mar 2013With all of the attention given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lately, you could be forgiven for thinking that it's already well along in production, yet tooling up for the new C7 has only just begun. In fact, production of the outgoing C6 generation in Bowling Green, Kentucky just halted on Thursday.
As the C6 has aged, production numbers have predictably ebbed along with demand, but this year, the addition of the 427 and 60th anniversary models resulted in an uptick in vehicles built - this, despite a model year shortened by around 25 percent to accomodate the new model changeover. The final C6 Corvette ever, No. 13,466 built this year, was a white 427 Convertible destined for the General Motors Heritage Center museum. The car's 7.0-liter V8 heart was assembled by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter himself.
In total, Bowling Green pushed out 215,100 C6 Corvettes over nine years. If you're still a C6 fan at heart and are hoping to get a good deal on a phase-out model, step lively - Chevrolet reportedly had about 6,100 unsold units, which Autoweek suggests is good for around five and a half months of supply at the model's current sales rates. Given that demand will likely slacken even further as the C7 draws closer, that should be a big enough stockpile to keep dealers satisfied until 2014 Stingrays begin showing up on their forecourts in December.
