For sale is a 1989 Ford Mustang 5.0. This is a street car project I am not finishing. I have other projects I am dedicating my time to. This car comes with complete ladder bar rear axle with draglite rims and M/T tires. Front Draglites are also included. Engine is new, it was in a Ford Fairmont I purchased and put it in this 5.0. I haven't started it and Ran it in this car due to me deciding to tubb it and didn't want to put gas in the new tank. since it was to be removed anyway. Engine is worth $7,500 and transmission has 3k worth of work, including an $800 dollar torque converter. Upgrades to engine and body include: Dove 4 Heads/Stainless valves/bee hive springs/hardened pushrods/guide plates/competition hydraulic cam/Keith black flat top forged pistons/stud girdle/windage tray/high volume oil pump (melling)/engine studded with ARP bolts/offinhouser port o' sonic intake/holley 1050 Dominator/Holley Red fuel pump/performance fuel filter/gas tank sumped/ aluminum radiator with electric fans/ C-6 transmission with a Ratchet shifter (B&M) Professionally built by speed shop in Florida/3500 stall converter/460 adapter kit with big tube ceramic headers. Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum
Fri, 02 May 2014Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.
2014 Chevrolet Cruze TD fires up its new diesel motor
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Ever since General Motors confirmed plans to produce a diesel-powered Cruze back in 2011, we've been eagerly awaiting its arrival. And as part of the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Chevrolet has pulled back the cover on its oil-burning compact sedan, set to go on sale in the near future with a starting price of $25,695, not including $810 for destination.
The heart and soul of the Cruze TD (that's its official name) is a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel inline four-cylinder engine rated at 148 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, mated solely to a six-speed automatic transmission. The engine also has an overboost function that will increase torque to 280 lb-ft for up to ten seconds. The full brace of official specs haven't been released, but GM tells us that highway fuel economy will come in at 42 miles per gallon. If that number sounds familiar, it's because the Volkswagen Jetta TDI has the exact same rating. Unlike the Jetta, however, the Cruze TD can run on B20 biodiesel, where as the Volkswagen can only accept B5.
Model-specific changes to this 2014 Cruze TD include an aero kit and unique 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there's a full leather interior, and Chevrolet will provide two years of complimentary scheduled maintenance, not to mention a 100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
