2002 Chevy S10 Crew Cab Ls Short Bed 4wd Pickup Truck Chevrolet Pick Up 4 Door on 2040-cars
Columbus, Ohio, United States
Chevrolet S-10 4 door truck. Push button 4 wheel drive came in very handy during this snowy winter.
I have a VIN check on this truck that I can email to you. Clean and accident-free. We've taken great care of this truck during the past 1.5 years that we've owned it. Our needs have changed and we bought a small hybrid car for a long commute to work, so we have to sell this truck. Things we've done to the truck (HAVE RECEIPTS): 4 brand new tires with fewer than 5,000 miles on them. Lifetime balance and rotation from Firestone. New battery. Regular, on schedule oil changes. Replaced ball joints, pitman arm, idler arm, tie rod. Replaced brake pads, calipers. The only thing we know that is not working on the truck is the gas gauge. We decided it was not important to us, and we simply set the trip odometer every time we fill up the tank and fill up again around 200 miles. Very minor rust that is not really noticable. The car is rated between 12 and 18 mpg in the city and between 17 and 23 mpg on the highway. We average about 18 mpg with combined driving. Please note that the odometer reading will go up slightly as it is currently being driven. It is at 179,461 at the time of this posting, but will be slightly more at your time of purchase. 190 HP Vortec 4300 V6 SFI engine Insta-trac 4x4 transfer case 15" aluminum wheels 4 speed auto transmission with auto drive running boards cruise control tilt steering independent front suspension heavy duty suspension package driver & front passenger air bags 4 wheel disc antilock brakes daytime running lamps AM/FM stereo with CD and cassette air conditioning power locks power windows heated mirrors remote keyless entry deep tinted glass overhead console with temperature and compass floor console with dual upholders intermittent wipers chrome bumpers reclining high back deluxe cloth bucket seats sliding rear window spray on bed liner locking differential rear axle towing package/hitch Suggested retail for the truck is over $9000, with most dealers selling for about $7500. Private party value is almost $6400. |

Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner
Sat, 24 Aug 2013For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
Chevy gets cracking on Cruze EV fleet testing

The Chevrolet Volt hasn't yet gone on sale, but General Motors is looking at ways of expanding its electric vehicle lineup. Chevy, along with partner LG, is employing a group of all-electric cars in the form of the Cruze. The sedans are part of a demonstration fleet which is located in Seoul, South Korea and is being used to provide data in an electric vehicle research project. The goal is to gather information on driving patterns and charging behavior in addition to consumer acceptance.
The Cruze EVs, along with some Daewoo Lacetti Premieres EVs, are the first fleet of full-size electric vehicles and should provide invaluable information for The General. Staying full-size means not sacrificing cargo space, so the battery pack is mounted to the underbody, leaving the trunk area open for plenty recyclable, canvas grocery bags.
Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
