1991 Chevy S-10 Pick Up, 4x4 on 2040-cars
Oakland, New Jersey, United States
Up for sale is my 1991 Chevy S-10 pickup, 4 x4. It has been good to me so I really hate to see it go. I must sell it for something that seats more than 2. It's simply a great little truck for its age and highlight is the remanufactured engine with now around 8k on it. I had installed by local repair shop in March of 2013. The motor was purchased from a company called Gearhead Engines out of Texas. I paid $1100 for the motor and $800 for install, plus parts replaced like a new radiator, water pump, alternator, brand new windshield, front brake pads. Truck runs, drives, shifts very well, has automatic trans, it's 4x4,
works great, insert bed liner, towing package/hitch. Has readout dash
gauges, tilt wheel, cruise control, previous owner converted to power
windows and door locks.
The truck is mechanically sound, the frame is good and solid, the exterior is good besides a small dent or two and a couple dings. This truck isn't rusted up although there are 2 small rust holes at end of the bed, a few tiny bubbles popped up above rear wells, w/minor repair begun and there is A/C setup in the truck but the last guy took the compressor out and I didn't bother to put one in so it's easy replace if you want it back. Tires have decent amount of tread left and the rubber is good. This old school body style is cool and ran from 1988-1993 on all the S-10's. I dig it and maybe you do too! Happy bidding! |

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible gives us a couple of looks
Sat, 02 Mar 2013Put away your pixel paintbrushes, kids. Pack up your Photoshop. This is the real-deal 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible in its first official images. The droptop Chevrolet will roll into the bright lights of the Palexpo exhibition at next week's Geneva Motor Show, a four-wheeled statement of intent that General Motors is serious about taking its Corvette franchise global.
Chevy isn't providing anything in the way of further details with these two shots, but we've learned at least a couple of things about the car shown here. First off, the example seen in these images is fitted with the optional Z51 Performance Package - something that isn't immediately evident because there's no sign of the coupe model's prominent ductwork on its rear haunches. In order to accommodate the power folding hard tonneau cover, the vents that feed the transmission and differential coolers have been relocated to the underside of the car. The dark paint color on this example also does a good job of muting the contrasting black front fender vents and hood opening - Z51-spec design details that have proven to be somewhat controversial.
One other thing to note: These two shots also display the Stingray wearing different alloy wheels than the split five-spoke design shown at the hardtop's Detroit Auto Show unveiling in January. The simpler, thin five-spoke wheels should do a good job of showing off the Z51's upgraded brakes, and they'll be optional on the coupe as well.
Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]
Mon, 18 Aug 2014For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.
