Rare Original 1967 Chevrolet C10 Stepside Pickup- 327 Hp Eng- Fremont Ca Factory on 2040-cars

Rare  1967  Chevrolet  C10  Stepside  Pickup  Truck:

Although this Chevrolet Stepside bodystyle era was from 1967 through 1972, the 1967 is the only year with the small back window.  Also, I was told by someone who worked at the Fremont, CA factory, that this is the original 327 H.P. V-8 engine, with the smog pump. The codification in the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) shows Fremont as the manufacturing facility.  Additionally, the overdrive was a very rare option that was added during time of manufacture.

This is a very solid truck, that only had only slight rust on the driver's floor rocker panel, before restoration.  I located Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) General Motors Rocker Panels,  still in original packaging, and had both rocker panels replaced prior  to restoration, which included countless hours of wet-sanding, and then painted- inside and out.  The paint is Cherry Pearl, with alot of pearl essence, which changes color depending on the lighting conditions, as you will see in the pictures.  Everyone compliments the color and condition!  Wooden bed replaced with a new Red Oak Bed Kit with Stainless Steel rails/strips. The tailgate has the Chevrolet lettering painted with White Pearl paint.

The transmission is the stock manual 3-speed on the column ("3 on the tree").  I did not want to cut the floor for a stick shift, preferring to keep it original.  It came with the center piece of the left rear Centerline mag wheel missing.  I had planned to change over to original wheels, to finish the look.  I did not install the Chevrolet emblems and lettering on the hood, but is easy to do.  These trucks have coil springs on the rear.  They are great work trucks, fun to drive, and are a great piece of history.

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

Wed, 28 Dec 2011

'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
