Okay so I’ve got this truck I’m selling;- it’s an ’89 S-10, 2.5 liter 4-cylinder 5-speed, short bed standard cab with 97,000 miles.  I bought it last year with a blown head gasket and some front end damage (bent bumper, hood, grill).  My Son and I did a valve job, bolted new metal on the front, replaced the radiator and battery and have been driving it ever since.  It runs very well, has good tires, brakes, clutch, glass, tracks nice-n-straight down the road, shifts good, doesn’t have any funny noises or vibrations and the check engine light is connected and functions as designed.

With that said, it’s a 25 year old truck and although it has very low mileage it’s “been around”.   The paint is just okay; it’s not peeling or cracking, it’s just not “nice” nor would it be any better with wax probably?   It has a few rust spots (above the pass side rear wheel bottom of the pass-side door, and both rear cab corners),  but the doors and tailgate close good, and the glass seals good so my guess is it doesn’t have any hidden major rust underneath nor has it probably ever been wreck other than the front  sheet metal.  If I was to keep and use this truck as a daily driver, I’d charge the AC, replace the blower motor (squirrel cage doesn't spin), install new exhaust from the catalytic converter back (currently drops in front of the rear axle so it sounds like a “young Man’s truck” :), replace the windshield wiper blades, maybe some carpet over the rubber mat, one of those dash covers that Velcro on, a head liner? and for sure a new media player.  But if you need a truck to drive from point A to point B without any frills and minimal difficulty this would work fine for the low mileage, good fuel economy inexpensive truck you’ve been looking for to do just that

A $200 deposit is due within 48-hours of closing and balance is due within 7-days.  Paypal is preferred but not required and if you have less then a 97% rating or less then 10 transactions please contact me before bidding.

I’d like to sell before I get busy this summer so I have the truck listed both locally as well as on Ebay.

C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
