1966 Chevy C10 Truck on 2040-cars
Altoona, Pennsylvania, United States
1966 Chevy custom 10 pickup short bed fleetside. 454 big block Chevy engine with turbo 400 automatic tranny. factory air conditioning. truck is in very good condition all new brakes disc on front drum on back they are power brakes. Tinted glass including rear window drivers window is cracked will need replaced .Paint is very nice has a few of the normal chips that a truck that was restored and driven would have. This truck was restored in Texas in the mid 90s my father in law purchased the truck shortly after it was restored and hardly ever drove it but kept it inspected and drove it sparingly every summer and kept it in the garage under his house. He replaced the grille it is in like new condition to this day. he did rub the right side trim against his garage door so it is flattened but can be fixed easily. The engine is a stock 454 big block out of a 1978 not sure what it came out of the engine has not been cleaned lately but it runs and sounds good it has chrome valve covers and air cleaner. He had the truck aligned and everything is in working order it drives straight down the road with a finger on the wheel. The a/c needs charged but it does work when charged it has r12 in it and I would want to convert it to 134 so just haven't done it. The wooden bed floor is nice but could stand a coat of urethane and 1 or two boards are split but still in good shape. It has powder coated rally wheels with dog dish Chevy center caps the rears are 10 inch wide with nice p295/50 15 wide bf Goodrich tires. This is just a very nice truck that someone could just clean a few things and drive it to car shows. we have every receipt from the restoration for every nut and bolt that was replaced. We will except cash or a certified bank check or paypal and truck will need picked up. If a check the truck will not be released until funds are cleared.

2013 Chevy COPO Camaro announced with two new engines and manual option
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Chevrolet is following up the 2012 COPO Camaro with another limited run of the drag-strip-ready production car for 2013. Ditching the superchargers, the 2013 COPO Camaro can only be equipped with one of three naturally aspirated V8 engines, and other new features include the option of a manual transmission, new front springs, some minor styling changes and a lower starting price of $86,000. All cars are designed to abide by the rules of the NHRA's Stock Eliminator or Super Stock classifications, depending on in which series buyers wish to enter their Chevrolet Camaro.
Returning for 2013 is the 427-cubic-inch V8 producing 425 horsepower, but the new engines include a 325-hp 350-CID V8 and a 375-hp 396-CID V8. Buyers can select to purchase all three engines, and each will be matched with the sequence number of that car; the track-only COPO cars will not have vehicle identification numbers and can't be registered for street use.
Chevrolet is also offering unique enthusiast-specific options such as a COPO Build Book and the opportunity for owners to help assemble their car's engine at the Chevrolet Performance Build Center in Wixom, MI.
Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]
Thu, 07 Feb 2013For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.
