1957 CHEVY 1/2 Ton Pickup A Nice Survivor of its Era Vin Body tag matches title This truck is a good true survivor which sits straight and looks right. It even has its original wiring that is NOT all butchered. A great canidate for a complete restore or drive it now like it is. This has an Original 235 6-cylinder motor (not 1957) that is a few years newer. However, if you are looking for the original motor that came out of this truck I do have it available. (see notes below on Original motor) 3-Speed transmission with overdrive. Shifts good. (see notes on transmission below) This is not a shortbox or a longbox. It is the in-between that most talk about that is used for the Cameo conversions. 48x90 on the interior. New Doug fir wood in bed. Glass is all new or good except the wing windows that have some bubbling. Body looks like someone has done some restoration on it years earlier. Hood has some bondo on it. Any body work that was loose I removed the bondo. . Some rust in typical places. Doors need adjusting as they sag some. I think they need new hindge pins. New Rebuilt seat Windshield wipers work. All lights work. Original gauges work except there is a hole in oil sending line, so it needs replaced. New fuel tank and sending unit New rebuilt carburator Fresh tune up with new points, rotor, condenser, cap, wires and plugs. New master cylinder. Brakes are a little soft. I think the wheel cylinders should be replaced eventually. Needs heater core. NOTES: I also have the Original Motor - Needs rebuilt, good rebuilder with no ridge on cylinders, crank looks good, bearings look good, needs head gasket, rings are ceased from not being started in a lot of years. Transmission- It is all there including the original wiring except theres a linkage that goes from the accelator petal to the transmission that is missing. Should not be hard to find. Actual mileage unknown on vehicle. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible headed for Geneva debut
Mon, 28 Jan 2013While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.
Joe Flacco wins C7 Corvette along with MVP honors
Mon, 04 Feb 2013As part of a longstanding tradition, the MVP of Super Bowl XLVII, Joe Flacco, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, was given a new car directly after the game and trophy celebrations. For 2013, that car is a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and it was presented to Flacco by Rick Flick of Banner Chevrolet, a dealership in New Orleans that was wiped out by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 before returning to prominence as the only Chevy dealer in Orleans Parish.
Last year, Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning took home a 2012 Corvette GS Centennial Edition. Manning also won in 2008, when he selected a Cadillac Escalade Hybrid as his reward. In 2011, quarterback Aaron Rodgers accepted the keys to a Camaro convertible.
Though we're most definitely an auto-obsessed group, we did watch the Big Game along with nearly everyone else in America. And we've gotta say, as if winning the Super Bowl and receiving the Tiffany-designed Pete Rozelle Trophy wasn't enough for the multi-millionaire MVP athletes, a brand-new C7 seems like an awfully generous prize. New Chevrolet Silverado to be revealed on Facebook on Thursday
Tue, 11 Dec 2012There's not much to see here, but if you're one of those waiting for the reveal of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, above is the teaser image that Chevrolet posted on its Facebook page. We've seen the truck in form-fitting camo before, and even less can be made out here beyond those seriously punchy Silverado-esque fenders and the knowledge that the projector-beam headlamps teased previously do indeed work. We'll have to wait until Thursday for a full perusal of the "bold exterior design" and "careful attention given to every detail" we've been promised.
Gathering intel and rumors, magnesium and aluminum contribute to the Silverado's weight loss plan, the purported "High Country" top-tier trim will contribute to luxury pickup truck competition and profit margins and the next-generation small-block V8 will contribute to improved fuel economy. On the engine note, there have been rumors of available V6 engines, and when Facebook user John Jones asked "Where's your answer to that EcoBoost Chevy?", the Bowtie replied "stay tuned on the 13th. We think you'll be pleased...".
Along with the "Raise the Bar" tag, Chevrolet says of the Silverado, "You asked, we delivered." You can watch the reveal live on Chevrolet's Facebook page at 9:30 am EST, this Thursday, December 13. The GMC Sierra 1500 will also be there, and we'll see both in person at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
