Trim: 3100
Up for auction is this 1956 Chevrolet 3100 pickup truck. This truck has that perfect patina and stance everyone is looking for and turns heads everywhere it goes! The best part about it is it has all the modern amenities like V8 power, automatic transmission, power steering and power disc brakes! NOT the typical manual everything 3 on the tree that you have to fight down the road. This truck has been fitted to a cutlass frame and drives like a car going down the road. You can literally drive this truck down the road 65-70mph and let go of the wheel and it goes straight as an arrow. It is a very reliable truck. I just drove it roundtrip 400+ miles to the Shades of the past car show in Pigeon Forge TN last weekend without issue.(My wife actually drove it home so that speaks to how confident I am on this vehicle)
The 307 V8 engine is fed by a Quadrajet carb. It fires up the 1st time every time, and sounds great with its all new aluminized exhaust with Thrush muffler.(See Video Link Below) It rides on new Boss 338 wheels 18x7 up front and 18x9 in the rear. It has been lettered up as a shop truck and had the grill, bumpers, and headlight bezels painted in cream white to contrast the blue body. It just has so many cool features like the wood bed, chrome fuel cell, and Mexican blanket interior that includes the door and kick panels. Even modern tilt steering with the old 50s steering wheel fitted to it.
This truck is obviously no show truck and not being represented as such. It has some rust in the usual truck places, but is certainly no rust bucket and far better than most. However, it is a very cool old truck that is very reliable and I would drive it anywhere. I have had dozens of these old trucks with cut springs, lowered springs, and even air ride, but this one hands down rides the best.

Again, this is a reliable turn key truck that is ready to go anywhere. All it needs is a new owner. Please email or call with any questions you may have

Conquest and controversy conclude the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona [spoilers]
Sun, 26 Jan 2014If you don't wish to know who won the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona, you should avert your eyes right now. We'll even give you a double-space to skedaddle...
For those of you still with us, the first race in the United SportsCar Championship (USCC) is done, but the discussions about it certainly won't end for a while. Daytona Prototypes claimed the first four overall places, the top spot taken by the No. 5 Action Express Coyote-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi, Sebastien Bourdain and Burt Friselle. The 16th and final caution of the race bunched the field up for an eight-minute sprint to the flag, so the first place getter finished just 1.4 seconds ahead of the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Dallara-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Max Angelelli. Third place went to Brian Friselle in the No. 9 Action Express Chevrolet Corvette DP, 20 seconds down. Chevrolet power hasn't taken the overall win since 2003, eleven years later it scores a one-two-three-four. The No. 6 Muscle Milk/Pickett Racing ORECA-Nissan 03 scored fifth place, the top LMP2 finisher.
The Prototype Challenge class win went to the No. 54 CORE Autosport team of Colin Braun, Jon Bennett, Mark Wilkins and James Gue.
Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts
Wed, 27 Feb 2013There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.

Chevrolet Camaro in Korea - Click above for high-resolution image
There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.
