This restoration project is just what you've been looking for. this vehicle was found parked in a barn so it hasn't been exposed to the elements for a while. it has 47,196.5 miles on the engine. starts easily and does not smoke a bit. engine is clean with many new parts. interiour need to be reupholstered but the frames and springs are in great shape. If so desired ( in the right state) this vehicle can be tagged and driven right away everything works with the exception of the generator or voltage regulator (not sure) it will although, drive for days with a fully charged battery. there is no visible body cancer. rocker panels are intact. Doors open and close without needing any fuge. Its all original glass from 1952. the only body blemish is a spot on the passenger rear quarter. A piece of fiberglass from some previous body work has peeled up. (I personally haven't done any body work to it. it was done before I acquired this beauty) Although this vehicle is not intact all the parts are present. they just need to be re installed ( only door panels, trim and such) It comes with many spare parts 3 speed manual transmission, bellhousing, flywheel with cover (new) clutch and pressure plate, intake and exhaust manifold with carburetor, oil filter housing, valve cover, rocker arm carriage with rocker arms and springs, exhaust pipe cover tube (new), distributor, starter (disassembled), thermostat gooseneck with gasket (new), many new gaskets in factory box.

Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.

Tue, 22 Jan 2013It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.
Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.
