1949 Chevy Rat Rod truck with chopped top, fabricated steel short  bed with 1 1/2" rough cedar flooring.Truck has 1956 Ford truck fenders on the bed,the fenders have been switched,so the right rear Ford fender is on the left rear side of the bed and left side was put on the right side of bed.So the Ford rear fenders were put on this bed on opposite sides to get this look. This body is sitting on a S-10 frame and suspension with a set of 21" rims. Front tires have under 2,000 miles and rear tires have under 200 miles.Truck does have all the glass in it and side windows roll up and down.Glass is all good ,except driver door glass is cracked, but gives the truck good character. Powered by (I was told) a 1978 Corvette 350 motor and 350 transmission with under 5,000 miles since being gone through.Does have power steering and power brakes,Chevy Silverado buckets seats with self contained seat belts and center fold down arm rest, cowhide headliner.Radio is not working, but does have 2 amps and a large speaker box.

Truck has recently passed a Missouri State Inspection and I am currently driving this truck now.It has been on the road for about 1 1/2 years and drives like a S-10.It has been driven 400 miles in a day at 70-75 mph,so there is no problem driving this truck home. There are dents in the front fenders, but only a small rust through area in front of passenger door on botton cab as picture shows. It is a rat rod not a SHOW TRUCK,so what you see is what you get.If you have any questions email me your question or phone number and I will get back to you ASAP.This truck always gets alot of attention and everytime you drive it people will want to take pictures and talk about what you have done to it.It is titled as a 1949 Chevy truck and I have title in hand. The passing gear cable will need to be replaced, since it got against the exhaust the other day,Truck still runs fine, but does not have a working passing gear at this time.but as I said it still drives and runs fine, just no kickdown power when you floor it..

$500 deposit through Paypal within 48 hours of auction ending and cash upon pickup of truck.Picked up only..This is a no reserve auction so if you bid it will sale. There is more money in the truck than starting price of the auction.Truck is located just south of Springfield Missouri about 10 miles.Selling due to health reasons..

GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.

2014 Chevrolet Malibu gets more torque, more room and inspiration from the Impala

Fri, 31 May 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, having stared at the Impala across the showroom floor for a year, gets nips and tucks all over inspired by its larger brother. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the base car will get a stop-start system and 23 city miles per gallon, 35 highway, each number representing a one-mpg improvement over the 2013 car. Output is 196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
Opt for the 2.0-liter turbo and, while power holds steady at 259 hp, torque goes up by 14 percent to a striking 295 lb-ft (a figure Chevy calls best in the class). The final details include newly programmed transmission shift points and faster shifts, for better engaging and enjoying the added power.
Looks-wise, the grille's been reshaped to be more in line with the new Chevrolet look, a narrower upper grille hovering over a larger lower grille.

Watch NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon put one over on a used car dealer... sorta

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Full Disclosure: in my younger days, I loved nothing more than tormenting passengers with my behind-the-wheel hijinks. Once, after a particularly artful handbrake turn on a two-lane at around 50 miles per hour, I left one backseat occupant crying in their own lap. This isn't necessarily something to be proud of, but it gives you a glimpse into why it is that I find this ad from Pepsi so damn disappointing. The premise is beautiful. Take NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, give him a disguise and set him loose upon some unsuspecting used car dealer. Hilarity ensues.
Except that this Pepsi Max commercial is so obviously staged, it can't help but feel like some ham-fisted marketing fail. From the strategically placed aftermarket cupholder mounted mid-dash for the hidden camera to the fact that the supposed dealer Camaro is displayed as a 2009 model (Hint: Chevrolet didn't make any), this clip is about as organic as a Twinkie. Still, we would never turn down a chance to watch Gordon thrash on a rental-spec coupe - only problem is, he probably didn't even do the driving himself. Check it out below.
